Dr. Who Craft: Doily of Rassilon

Dr. Who Doily of Rassilon

I have to admit I’m not enough of a Whovian to completely appreciate this project, but I do love the look of this crochet Doily of Rassilon. I think a set of them would be gorgeous framed.

According to Wikipedia:

Rassilon is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. In the backstory of the programme, he was the founder of Time Lord society on the planet Gallifrey.

Reading the Wikipedia entry I see that there’s quite a bit to this Rassilon character. I really need to watch more Dr. Who. Do I start at the very beginning with Season 1, or is there a particular season you suggest I start with?

  1. start with Doctor #9 in 1995. You can watch them on Netflix. Once you are caught up to the current season, then watch the old ones. :)

  2. I agree with Christina. Start with the Ninth Doctor (played by Christopher Eccleston) that aired in 2005. Once you’ve worked your way through David Tennant (make sure you have Kleenex available for his last episode) and Matt Smith, go back and watch the original Doctor Who series/seasons for some additional back story while you wait for new Doctor Who episodes to air. After that, might want to check out Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures, which are/were both great spin-offs of Doctor Who. Welcome to the wonderful world of Doctor Who! Get ready to have a “fantastic” experience!

  3. Thanks so much for the suggestions, ladies! I am glad to hear season 9 is a good starting place – it was a bit overwhelming to think about starting at the very beginning! Though once I’ve started, there’s a good chance I won’t mind going back to the beginning, I’m betting! Thanks again!
