  1. It is cute, but you might want to point out that she didn’t design him. A friend of mine created the dragon (minus the wings) and posted the pattern on crochetville so people could enjoy it. So shaints took that totally awesome pattern, took wings from someone else’s pattern, and sewed ’em on.

I agree it’s totally cute, but it’s cute because someone else spent the time to really design a great dragon. The eyes are my favorite part.

No beef with shaints, the blog post totally gives credit to the other folks who created this little guy. But you might want to be a little more clear when you post about who actually created something new and who is following a pattern.

  2. Also, I didn’t mean to come across as a beeyotch, and I do love this site…it’s just that dragon design is so darned distinctive I wanted to see proper credit given to my bud the designer.

If you go to Shaints blog, you’ll find links to the original crochetville thread which includes the pattern and links to a step by step photo tutorial on how to make one of these guys for yourself (minus teh wings). Because the more of these guys in the world, the cuter the world will be! I’ve got one on my dresser right now :)

  3. That’s great work, but seconding phoenix in that that’s not shaints’s pattern. A link to the original might be nice – I’ve made tons of these dragons, it’s my most favourite ami pattern ever. :)

  4. Sugar- I know my buddy would be glad to know how much you enjoy her little guys! I was one of the lucky ones who received one of the ones she made herself. If ya look on the original crochetville thread, I ended up with the black multicolor one. She’s a stay at home mom and is kinda amazed at how popular this pattern became :)

  5. i want to find it!! i got a user name on crochetville but cant find it anywhere. ive been learning to make amigurumi, and i’m darn good at it, but dragons have been baffling me…and thats the cutest one i’ve ever seen! please give me a link to her original pattern, so i can learn? it would be so appreciated!!! i’ve been looking for weeks.

  6. I just realized Marjorie (the original designer) also got this little guy featured in CrochetMe, that nifty online crochet magazine, so that’s probably the easiest place to find her original pattern.

  7. Can anyone give me a link to that crochetville thread? I really can’t find this amazing pattern anywhere!
