Ooh! I could have a real katamari that actually picks things up! (Well, a “real” katamari, at least.) I just need to coerce one of my knitter/crocheter friends into making me one using this pattern. Evidently you can also needle-felt a similarly magnetic katamari using the instructions in the how-to guide I Felt Awesome. Watch it in action here.

Tetris Table

Today I want to show you this amazing Tetris Side Table made by Annahowardshaw from Instructables.

The whole table is made from scratch and we are given the complete tutorial so you can create your own piece of retro geek furniture. The Tetris pieces are made from wooden cubes stuck together, sanded and painted. They are then glued on to the table after arranging them carefully.

Carcassonne T-shirt embroidery

With yet another holiday season behind us, it is nice to reflect on some of the quality time spent with family and friends. I was fortunate enough to have my wonderful in-laws visit us from Milawaukee for a few days around the New Year’s holiday. One of our favorite things to do together is play the game Carcassonne. If you are not familiar with Carcassonne, it is a tile-based German-style board game that has been lauded, by some, as one of the best-designed board games out there. So fun, you guys.

Today’s craft comes by way of Laura Hatrich’s embroidery of one of the Carcassonne tiles on a T-shirt for her husband. You can see the side-by-side comparison of the embroidery and tile in the image. Really smart use of the various thread colors to bring out the detail in the tile! I have no doubt Laura’s husband incited envy among Carcassonne lovers wherever he went!

Since first picking up Super Mario World, I’ve always wanted a Yoshi. After years and years of waiting, I found an Etsy shop that sells Yoshi eggs.

Granted, they’re PLUSH Yoshi eggs, but still. They’re pretty adorable.

The weather outside is frightful but Star Wars hats are so delightful… Okay, so it doesn’t really have the same ring to it as the famous Christmas carol but they really are super cool. Anyone worth their salt will know there is a pretty big day coming up in the calender, one which we will all celebrate. Yup, the release of the Star Wars MMO Star Wars The Old Republic on December 20th. Most of us can wave goodbye to seeing our loved ones over the Christmas period but whilst he’s deciding to go Empire or Republic you can at least get some peace and quiet to craft.

This amazing hat is hand knitted by Etsy seller LittleBirdLucy. The knitted Princess Leia Bun Hat is available in Black or Brown and is available in Toddler, 4-6 years, teen and adult sizes. Yup we can all look this awesome, and just think how warm your ears would be!
