If Coraline Were Real Polymer Doll

real-coraline

I’ve been hoping to find a really good Coraline craft for awhile (of course, I wasn’t really looking that hard). Let’s face it, Coraline in 3-D, Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Coraline directed by Henry Sellick (the same guy who did Nightmare Before Christmas), I can’t think of anything about Coraline that doesn’t scream “I belong on Geek Crafts!”. And now, thanks to huggiepeelow posting this amazing If Coraline Were Real Polymer Doll, Coraline is on Geek Crafts, the world is right, and I finally have an excuse to write about Neil Gaiman. How wonderful!

PC EZ-Bake Oven

pc-ez-bake
This is taking geeky baked goods to an entirely new level. This is a new and incredibly geek-tastic twist on an old favorite–The EZ-Bake Oven. The PC EZ-Bake Oven isn’t satisfied at merely looking geekier than its child’s-toy counterpart, it must be the geekiest oven you’ve ever seen. This PC EZ-Bake Oven actually fits into your spare 5 1/4″ drive bay, and works on your computer’s power source!

Now, you literally never have to leave your computer again (until you need to pee). The PC mod, available at Think Geek comes with replacement bulbs, a few mixes (including a caffeinated meat loaf!) and a recipe book with “office friendly” recipes such as duck sauce tarts and non-dairy creamer creme brulee. Perfect blend of nostalgia, functionality, and geekiness.

EDIT: I was just informed that this was an April Fool’s joke by Think Geek (too good to be true!). I apologize for posting it as a “real” item!

Child’s Play Chucky Cake

chucky-cake
Today has been a pretty horrifying day. To start, I had to be at work at four am (horrors and terrors you could only dream of), then, after work (and a nap) a friend and I went “urban exploring” in an incredibly creepy mostly abandoned ghost town very near to “Devil’s Crater”, so when this little gem showed up in my inbox this afternoon, I knew what I had to do.

R0ckwithme posted this delectable and terrifying Child’s Play Chucky Cake she made for her beau’s twelve year old son on craftster. Immediately, visions of slumber parties of yester-year, hiding under sleeping bags and convincing myself that every doll, teddy bear, or vaguely humanoid toy I owned was definitely Chucky, and was definitely going to kill me.

I can honestly say that until today, no cake so well-decorated has ever intimidated me, but this one…well…takes the cake.

Blind Man’s Metal Rubik’s Cube

This is a really easy, fun project to dress up an old Rubik’s Cube for display, or to really hone your skills as a Rubik’s solver. Gtig posted this Blind Man’s Metal Rubik’s Cube he made with a regular Rubik’s Cube, some epoxy, and a few metal squares he pried off an old chair. There are step-by-step instructions in his post on Instructables.

In addition to looking awesome, it adds a new element to solving Rubik’s Cubes, and Gtig claims that by solving this one blind, it has made it easier for him to solve a normal Rubik’s Cube!

Doctor Who Plushie

doctor-who-plushie

Angelcallie has redefined fandom with this amazing Doctor Who Plushie that she posted on her livejournal page. This Time Lord is complete with his ever-important stop watch, and when his shirt is removed, you see The Doctor’s all important two hearts!

I loved this plushie from the moment I saw it, and fell even deeper in love when I read her reasoning for doing Doctor number ten first.

I hope to make all the doctors eventually, but I started with Ten because he’s my doctor.

Any real fan of The Doctor knows the importance of “your” Doctor. Your first, your favorite.
