Spoilers, Sweetie.

As someone who’s been coveting a River Song journal since it was first introduced, when I came across this post in an Livejournal Community called Crafty Tardis, I knew that I had to have it.

eveywiecherton on Livejournal gives amazing steps on how to create your own River Song cover. The steps are clear, with pictures to help guide the way, and I’m sure it can be adjusted to fit any e-reader you may have.

Granted, getting an e-reader should probably come first, but still. Once I finally buy one, making this cover will be the first order of business.

Sleep if Convenient…

. . . and with this pillowcase, you’ll want to sleep even if not convenient! What better to encourage pleasant dreams of everyone’s favorite consulting detective than this ‘Dreaming of Sherlock’ pillowcase.  The single pillowcase is a cotton blend and a  standard size and beige.  The crafter, one of our two favorite Death Eaters, is Dixiebell who is co-owner of Death Eater Delights on Etsy.

Prefer to dream of consulting criminals rather than consulting detectives?  Or perhaps you prefer a different incarnation of Sherlock?  Just drop Dixiebell a line at Etsy and share your suggestion.  She loves to try new ideas.

Now if you excuse me, I need to drop a Death Eater a line about dreaming of Mycroft!

Game of Thrones Cookbook

I don’t know about you, but I love having friends over and cooking up something delicious… I just do.  I discovered that some of my husband’s co-workers are big Game of Thrones fans (as am I), so I invited them over and scoured the internet for Game of Thrones inspired recipes. I came across this website, Inn at the Crossroads, that has loads of recipes all based on foods mentioned in the actual book series (i.e. lemon cakes, Sansa salad, beef and barley stew).  They recently published the official Game of Thrones cookbook, A Feast of Ice & Fire.   I don’t have it yet, but I kind of want it because who doesn’t like to eat some medieval-inspired grub every now and then?

Game of Thrones Leather Journals

game of thrones leather journals

With the second season of Game of Thrones wrapping up, I thought it would be appropriate to share these gorgeous Game of Thrones leather journals by TaeliacStudio.

My husband and I watched the first season last year, but got rid of cable earlier this year, so we’re waiting for the second season to come out on DVD. (Please – no spoilers!) Based on the first season, I’d say my favorite house is Stark, followed closely by Targaryen, if only for the strong character of Daenerys. Though of the journals above, I think I like the Lannister one the best – it reads, “Hear Me Roar” on the cover.

And you? Which house has your loyalty? Or which journal would you pick?

A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words

I have this obsession with typography. It is one of the coolest forms of art there is. I continue to try my hand at it, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. Then there are those times where I come across people who have this amazing talent for it and I’m just flabbergasted.

Skahfee Studios is one of those people. Ranging in geeky typography from Star Wars to World of Warcraft to Doctor Who. All of these pieces of art are amazing. Each made out of quotes or lines from famous TV shows and movies, all constructed to make beautiful pictures.

SherLOCKed

Now you can not only be hooked on Sherlock but you can hook him as well! Justine Meunier, or Retsnimel as she is known on Ravelry, has created a free pattern for an amigurumi BBC Sherlock Holmes.  From his curly hair to his coat, you can see the character as his mind works through the details of his latest case.  Quite accurate, right down to his blue scarf and purple shirt.

Of course, Sherlock must have his companion and Justine has provided a free pattern for Doctor John Watson as well.
