NPR’s Ira Glass in Cross Stitch

Ira Glass Cross Stitch
Check out this amazing work of cross stitch. Craftster user postfeminist stitched this meticulously detailed portrait of Ira Glass of NPR’s This American Life. She says she’s working on Elvis Costello and others. I can’t wait to see more of her work!

  1. I feel so out of it – I have never heard of Ira Glass. I thought this post was about some type of cross-stitching with some kind of glass called “Ira” :)

  2. Hi! I’m the artist, Bee Listy. Thanks for showing off this portrait– it’s one of the finest I’ve made. You can see my other stuff on my website, http://www.beelisty.com.

This portrait came about because I was listening to old This American Life episodes whilst stitching something else, and I joked around in my livejournal that despite being a dyke, I’ve had a big crush on Ira Glass for years now. I joked that I might stitch his face and a friend immediately offered to buy it if I did, so that’s how it happened. This piece is now owned by a woman in Massachusetts, the receiver of the gift from my friend. :)
