Mr. T in Perler Beads

Mr. T in Perler Beads

Not only do I blog about crafts, sometimes I even make crafts. I’m not quite sure how I came up with the idea to make a portrait of Mr. T with Perler beads, but after many trips to the craft store, sorting beads and ordering more beads online, he was complete. It took over 10,000 beads to make Mr. T and he is more than two feet high!

Check back tomorrow for more Mr. T crafts!

This is pretty awesome. I have been known to get into a little MR. T action. I mean, I do pity the fool after all.

OK, but how the hell did you melt all the beads together without encountering serious warping? I did an 8×10 perler portrait a while back, and it finished out all warpy.

How big was the peg board you used to assemble the beads?

Blake - there was some warping…after ironing, I stacked a bunch of books across the whole thing. I used 16 of the large interlocking peg boards (29×29 beads each).

Holy guacamole, do I love the Mr. T portrait! I blogged you… I mean I blogged about your blog. You know what I mean.
