Knit a Captain Marvel Sweater

I’m am starting quite the collection of sweaters I want to knit because there keep being awesome patterns that I stumble across. Most recently it was coming across a finished Captain Marvel sweater. Then a little while ago, the knitter put up a chart to help make your very own.

What can I say I’m easy to please. Give me a nice bright nerdy sweater and I’m done for. Look at this sweater.

Avengers Amigurumi

Last week, I decided to crochet my way through the Avengers.  By combining two different Cthulhu patterns and nixing the tentacles, I managed to get the look I wanted.  I made Black Widow, The Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hawkeye.  Hawkeye was the most difficult to recreate since, in the film, he wears mostly black which makes him a bit more difficult to place than, say, Captain America.  Still, I added a little bow to give a heavy hint as to his identity.  The Hulk’s my personal favorite.  I just love his angry eyebrows.

Dragon Dress

Pink Hickey on Craftster made this amazing, incredible, fantastic, dragon dress. She gave a tutorial on how to make it, tailored to yourself and all. I’ve had this pinned to my Clothing board for as long as I’ve had Pinterest, and the only thing stopping me from owning this dress is getting hold of the fabric – “Shibuki Dragon” The Alexander Henry Fabrics Collection 2007. An endeavour worth the effort, if her results are anything to go by!

Crocheted Bowser Sweater

Why not dress your pet turtle up as everyone’s favorite baddie from the Super Mario Bros., Bowser, King of the Koopas!

I just had to do a follow-up post to my Crocheted Turtle Cozies! Jennifer Olivarez created this awesome Bowser costume for her friend’s turtle as part of the Make It! Challenge series on her blog Squirrel Picnic. And, just so we wouldn’t all be jealous, she shares detailed instructions with amazing step-by-step photos. Bowser sweaters for everyone!

DIY Constellation Scarf

Here’s one for all my fellow Astrogeeks! I LOVE this scarf. Love it. As an amateur astronomer anything with constellations send me giddy, and this is great because you can make your own scarf featuring your favourite constellations.

DIY Constellations Scarf

Check out the tutorial on A Beautful Mess to discover how to make your own using a scarf, some craft foam, and a bit of easy embroidery.

I’ve actually been thinking of doing something similar to this on some blinds, ever since I purchased the wonderful Dot to Dot tee from Threadless, but I reckon using this tutorial a lot more things in my life are soon going to be sporting astronomical designs pretty soon!

Pokémon Cushions

What’s a better thing to do with your old bed sheets than to upcycle them into lovely cushions covers?

These Pokémon cushions are made by Alien Couture, an UK-based website and Etsy store. Of course, the shop doesn’t limit itself to just Pokémon. What about a gigantic Rainbow Dash or some retro Super Mario? They even sell a cushion made of a Jurrassic Park sheet I own myself (made in 1992, the year I was born)!
