Star Wars Baby Shower Cake
Every once in awhile I scan cakewrecks in an effort to feel better about my cake decorating abilities, and come up short because they have chosen to post something like this Star Wars Baby Shower Cake made by Woulett Bakery. Honestly? I don’t have words other than: pure, deep fried, golden, awesome. The perfect geeky shower cake for the Dark-Side loving expectant parent in your life.
Chemist’s Cake
Lori, at Clever Cake Studios made this incredible Chemist’s Cake for a chemical engineer at Nintendo (way cool!). With white and lemon cake, raspberry filling, fondant and lots of precise details (the topper to the bottle is a separate cake piece and can come out) this cake, well, takes the cake!
Star Wars Cakes
Craftster doyouloveanapple posted these incredibly cute Star Wars cakes that she made for her partner’s birthday based on these toys. Well done! (And thanks for the submission, Leah!)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Cake
I continue to be amazed at the creativity and detail in cake decorating. Geek Craft reader Laurel Taylor made this amazing (yes, it’s so amazing I keep saying amazing) 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea cake for her son.
“My son’s favorite movie is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, so when he asked for a submarine cake for his 5th birthday, he didn’t want just any plain submarine… he has no idea how spoiled he is that mommy can decorate cakes!”
Spoiled and lucky!
Leftover Peeps? Peep S’mores!
If you’re like me, you have at least a dozen Peeps sitting around your house getting stale. Before anybody freaks out–yes, I do know that some people prefer them stale, I’m not here to judge, just to let you in on a little secret I learned a few years ago.
Two Words: Peep S’mores. Now all you really have to do is take one Peep, roast it over a small flame, then throw it between two pieces of graham cracker with a hunk of chocolate (that’s how we did it). The colored sugar sort of caramelizes, the inside melts, and it’s just amazing. I wouldn’t suggest eating more than a couple unless you want to sugar crash harder than you ever have in your life.
Nicole at Baking Bites comes through with an easier Peep S’more (pictured above) where you just pop it all into your microwave and enjoy. She does warn that Peeps will explode in the microwave if nuked too long, so be careful, lest you wast precious Peeps & chocolate.
