Quick post from me today as my keyboard is typing Gobble De Gook so I am having to use the on-screen keyboard so it is taking aaaages to type anything.
Today I would like to show you this awesome Gir quilt made by lyric889 from Craftster.
This monster of a quilt is 40 inches wide by 54 inches long; using a staggering 1,344 squares. That is one big quilt!
More Invader Zim and Gir on Geek Crafts
These paintings by Wednesday Wolf are amazing—dark and evocative and deceptively simple. They also really run the gamut of geekery, encompassing everything from Sackboy, the Ninja Turtles’ Michaelangelo, and Gir to Powerpuff Girls villain Him, Voldemort, and even Trogdor. And I’ve never seen such a menacing Pokedex or such a tragic depiction of Dr. Horrible. It’s hard to choose, but I think my personal favorite is the Alot. (You know the story of the Alot, right?)
I’m running out of wall space, but I may need one or more of these prints.
My daughter is very into “Gir” these days – the sidekick from the Invader Zim cartoon. She’s hoping to pull together a Gir costume for Halloween. So in researching various DIY options, I pulled together this roundup of Gir crafts.
BehindtheSofa created her own Gir cross-stitch pattern, and stitched it onto a black hoodie.
When I was a kid, I used to love Shrinky Dinks, so these Dog Gir/Robot Gir earrings by Lynn Aquaheart caught my eye.
This week’s Etsy Treasury of the Week is brought to you by Invader Zim and his awesome side-kick G.I.R.
Be sure to click on the picture to be taken to the treasury and explore the awesomeness further.
I just came across this amazing crocheter (is that a word?) – Maggie Wang aka causticmuse – on Craftster. She has made a whole bunch of cool, very geeky amigurumi dolls based on Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet. I couldn’t pick a favorite as they’re all great, so here are five:
Level 80 Blood Elf from World of Warcraft
Lobo from DC Comics
The Nameless One from Planescape: Torment
Gir from Invader Zim
