You’re Not Seeing Double!

TwoStanLees

What’s better than meeting Stan Lee? How about meeting two of of one of the greatest creators in comic book history? Photographer Chris Dorsey was there last weekend to capture the magic as cosplayer “Agent Stan” met his real life counterpart, Stan “The Man” Lee at Planet Comicon in Kansas City.  Surrounded by the IBOTs (Iron Brothers of Topeka, KS), Dorsey documented all the fun, including some incredible cosplay all weekend at the convention.  Check out more of his excellent photos on his Facebook Page!

What Team Are You On? Cap or Iron Man?

With this tutorial from Crafty McFangirl you won’t have to choose sides. You can make both cool boxes, and just in time for Mother’s Day, too. I don’t know a mom out there that doesn’t like organizational tools. Plus, you can run with the concept and techniques covered in the really excellent video tutorial and make boxes for all the Avengers (or Justice League too!).

This Asgardian Iron Man Armor is Better Than Anything Tony Stark Has

I want to just say, that as a slightly gaudy chick, I want this armor to cosplay as Iron Man. Not “Iron Woman.” I want this design. I’d wear it every. Day.

Samuel Lee of Prince Armory is behind such mind-blowing costume and armor creations as the medieval versions of The Joker, Loki and Darth Vader. Now he’s back, this time with a gorgeously detailed, leather and brass-detailed Asgardian Iron Man.

The one-of-a-kind suit, made from leather, with brass hardware, isn’t for sale, but he’s always willing to discuss custom orders. However, you may need to have Tony Stark-sized bank account to afford it. However, the Prince Armory is not revealing the armor’s cost, because it will most likely never be made again.

Meet the Iron Brothers of Topeka

ibots02

Have you heard of the Iron Brothers of Topeka? They’ve got some of the coolest cosplay I’ve ever seen, and it was especially cool to see them at Figments and Filaments in Kansas City.  The convention itself was pretty small, so we were able to get up close (and yes, that’s me) and get pictures.  By the way, that’s the Iron Brothers’ very own cosplay Stan Lee.

Cosplay Fun at Planet Comicon 2015!

IBOT

I spent the past weekend at Planet Comicon in Kansas City, and even though I spent the weekend working my booth (The Costume Wrangler’s Closet), I did get to see some pretty awesome cosplay.  Above are some of the amazing folks from the Iron Brothers of Topeka (IBOTS).

RainbowDalek

This little Rainbow Dalek exterminates with cuteness according to her mom!

Sharknado

I had to run this boy down to get his picture for a friend who’s obsessed with Sharknado.  I particularly love the faux gore on all the sharks.  How creative is this kid?!

Groot

I snuck a snapshot of this cosplayed in a seriously cool Groot costume.

R2-Q5

Technically this isn’t cosplay, but the Kansas City R2 Builders Club have got some pretty amazing R2s, like this R2-Q5, an evil R2 whose allegiance belonged to the Empire!

She-Ra

This chainmaille She-Ra was a volunteer from Amanda Lynn Chainmaille Creations.

Show Your Geeky Leather Cuff

Mardigan Enterprises on Etsy caught my eye with their Arc Reactor Leather cuff as I was browsing.  They have a lot of great designs. And also leather wrapped flasks if that is more your speed. The cuff that caught my attention, Iron Man pictured below.

There are other cuffs, that can catch a geek’s eyes, Tardis,  or perhaps, you need a cuff burdened with glorious purpose.
