Tutorial Tuesday! Reverse Stencilled Tote Bag

Here’s a neat idea! lets think ‘outside the stencil’.

That’s exactly what jennieingram did when she had to quickly step into the Dr Who Swap on Craftster. Round 5 of the Dr Who swap that is… these swaps are hugely popular, they’re going to go on forever! Round 6 is crafting away as I type!

Jennie has shared a tutorial on how to achieve this effective technique on her blog, and also on Craftster.

But wait, there’s more! Turns out Jennie is quite an avid Geek-Crafter and tutorial writer. Check out her Doctor’s Companion Charm Bracelet and her tutorial on how to make Laminated Paper Bookmarks including a sonic screwdriver and a golden snitch.

Reader Submission: Doctor Who Pendant Bundle

Reader, Jenn, sent me a link to this spectacular Doctor Who Pendant Bundle in Sweet Geek‘s etsy shop. We all know I love Doctor Who, so of course I am giddy over this. My favorite is the Ood. Or the Adipose…or the TARDIS…or…

You get the idea.

Doctor Van Whoopla

There is just so much awesome in this hoop! Craftster user onegroovyday made this for the Hoopla Round 4 swap, and I am seriously jealous of her partner! Even if she had stopped at the Van Gogh part it would have been gorgeous, but it just keeps getting better! The theme for Round 4 was a diptych–so it had to be two related hoops. And the second hoop is in the TARDIS!! There are more pictures in the post, and I highly recommend you go look, there’s SO much detail. Here is something else amazing: onegroovyday has never seen Doctor Who! “I have never watched Doctor Who…. I did a lot of image searching and some you tube viewing…”

Dr Who Cross Stitch

I like the bit when someone says it’s bigger on the inside! I always look forward to that.

This is the creation of Crafty TARDIS/livejournal member Xcarex. I love it.

If you’re not plugged into Crafty TARDIS you should be! I love the charming honesty of this cross stitch, the way the TARDIS seems to be shining with all those dotted lines, and the care and attention taken over the different shades of blue.

Exploding TARDIS Shoes

Man I wish I could draw. Then I could try to make these for myself! cakewalkqueen made a pair of Exploding TARDIS sneakers using sharpies! She based them on a pair she saw on Etsy that feature Van Gogh’s drawing of the TARDIS exploding from the Doctor Who episode “The Pandorica Opens”. One shoe says “The pandorica will open” on the outside and the other says “Silence will fall”.
