9 Examples of Geeky Cross Stitch
Stitch by stitch and pixel by pixel, cross stitch is a great medium for geek crafts! Get out some graph paper and markers and see what kind of designs you can come up with.
The IT Crowd Cross Stitch
Flickr user a440 is a lucky guy. His wife cross stitched this based on a photo of the introduction to the UK sitcom The IT Crowd. The guy on the left is even wearing a Space Invaders t-shirt!
Space Invaders
Flickr user Cross-stitch ninja made this complete Space Invaders screen as a gift a few years back. It’s awesome with high scores and everything.
Mac Screen
Flickr user roamingleah stitched this Mac screen that is “nearly as tall as” her. The detail on this one is great.
iPod
Craftster user Crafty_Witch15 stitched her beloved iPod for a textiles class assignment. Who doesn’t love their iPod?
Pirate vs. Ninja Towels
Ahh, the age old battle: pirates vs. ninjas. Etsy seller momerath offers these fingertip towels for any decor. “Now you’ll know for sure which group has better hand-washing techniques. I’m betting it’s the ninjas,” she says.
Commodore 64
Craftster user Maltiriel stitched the Commodore 64 logo for her dad as a birthday present. She says, “My dad’s a geek, but then so am I so I guess it works out well. ”
Punch Out
This homage to Punch Out was Craftster user obesolete’s first cross stitch project that she completed. “I thought my fingers were going to fall off.” Can’t blame her, cross stitching can be very tedious.
Futurama
Craftster user jessii stitched up some of the gang from Futurama. She also likes to stitch Nintendo-related items and pictures of her favorite bands.
Binary Code
Craftster user carolynbb jumped right into cross stitching with approximately 7,000 stitches of ASCII binary code that spells her last name! Geeky *and* funny.
