SuperheroCape Tutorial
So, my son’s 4th birthday is coming up in April, and it has been decreed that it shall be a knight birthday party complete with capes for all his friends. The last time I worked up a vague guest list, my kid has 26 friends, which means 26 capes, which probably means I better get busy. In my quest for cape patterns, I came across this great superhero cape tutorial that I thought I’d share. It’s done by Puking Pastilles. It’s super cute, and seems relatively easy.

If you need to make 26, that’s going to take forever. Hit up your local thrift store for men’s tshirts and make these ones: http://www.thesoutherninstitute.com/2011/03/super-hero-cape-and-power-cuff-tutorial.html
I made them for 8 kids for Xmas and they all love them. Only I didn’t bother to alter the neck holes, just left them as is. My 3yo love that he can put it on by himself, and I love that I’m not being constantly asked to retie it.
I made a set of 3 of these capes using this very tutorial this past Christmas. I made matching “super” stenciled t-shirts with freezer paper. They all turned out fantastic. :D
So glad to hear this has worked for others! I knew this wasn’t the perfect pattern for my purposes, but it was too cute not to share!
