“Ahsoka Quinn” as a Star Wars/Batman Cosplay Mashup

lEmxJ2U

Knightsgarrison recently posted her Ahsoka Tano/Harley Quinn mashup on Imgur, because a friend (pictured above) wanted to cosplay as Ahsoka at Star Wars Celebration, but knowing that Ahsoka is to Star Wars as Harley Quinn is to literally every other con in the world, we figured…they’d just do both. It was her first time building something so involved and she learned (and screwed up) a lot along the way. She’s pretty proud of the results.

The seams drove her crazy. Luckily, it’s canon that Ahsoka sometimes wears head/lekku jewelry, so she bought some studded ribbon and glued it on. It doesn’t hide everything, but it helps a lot.

Total build time was 24 hours, spread it out over a month, and the total cost was about $100.

And as a total score, Knightsgarrison’s friend got a picture with the voice of Ahsoka herself: Ashley liked it so much she asked her assistant to take a picture with her own phone.

Floral Wars Glittery Star Wars Ballet Flats

BenaeQuee of Brooklyn just posted these ballet flats on Craftster, and I lurv them!!

She took a pair of shoes she bought last year for another project and used her new Star Wars Floral Wars fabric on them. She also added fine holo glitter to give a little sparkle to this already fabulous fabric. The fabric is a cotton woven from Knitorious Fabric.

And such pretty fabric as it is! I love this project because of the sketched look to the fabric’s designs, it’s Star Wars-themed, and because while the shoes aren’t identical, they still match.

This Star Wars Derby Hat Takes the Prize

Stasia Star Wars hat - top view

I had the opportunity to spend some time at Kansas City’s longest-running science fiction convention, ConQuesT, this weekend. I ran into my friend Annastasia Webster, of Stasia Crafts, there, and her hat bowled me over. Stasia is known on the con circuit for her stunning hats, and this Star Wars confection was no exception.

“You just need a ton of crap and some hot glue,” was her advice to me on making unique headwear, but this was far from “crap” – she’s quite clever and inventive with her supplies.

Her hat featured Yoda, Darth Vader, and R2D2 figures, as well as a light saber. She mentioned that when she went looking for action figures, they were rather pricey, so she opted to grab some kid water bottles that had similar figures on top, and handy flat bottoms that sat nicely on her hat. The light saber? It’s a bubble wand! She just scraped off the bubble label, tossed the bubble contraption, and it was perfect.

In the pic, you can also just make out her shawl, which she hand-knitted. Her talents are limitless!

A Star Wars: The Force Awakens Mural For a Fan

569d5d701a00005a00ab0cef

Emily Rose’s 7-year-old daughter has always been a huge “Star Wars” fan. After the family saw the newest film in the saga, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Rose knew a mural would be the prefect way to celebrate her daughter’s admiration of Rey, the movie’s lead woman character.

Rose told HuffPost they had difficulty finding a Rey action figure and visited nearly 20 stores before locating one.

Rose has painted murals for her children in the past, so she figured a mural of Rey would be the perfect surprise for her “overwhelmed fangirl” daughter. In two days, while her daughter was away, Rose painted a mural of Rey in her daughter’s room.

Not everyone can be an artist like Emily Rose, but with a little help, anyone could do a SW:TFA mural. Pick the search engine of your choice and look for Star Wars The Force Awakens coloring pages, and choose the Images link. Save the ones you like and then project them onto the wall of your choice. You can outline them on, and fill them in with paint later on.

Husband Sacrifices ‘Star Wars’ Sheets So His Wife Could Make These Awesome Clothes

Jennifer Vetere’s husband Robert sacrificed his old Star Wars bedsheets so she could make them something awesome to wear to The Force Awakens premiere. This is only the second dress Jennifer has ever made and it’s the first time she’s ever put a zipper into anything.

Plus, he got a really sweet Boba Fett bowling shirt out of the deal. This back panel is actually from one of the pillow cases.

As it turns out, Robert gave the sheets to Jennifer a full year before she did anything with them. She was too scared to touch them for awhile!

A Monster of a Star Wars Cake

Star Wars Sarlacc bundt cake by Yummy Crumble

Buttery caramel flavored moist bundt cake drizzled with homemade salted caramel sauce and dusted with Biscoff Cookie Crumbles.”

So begins Kathleen’s post on how she made her Star Wars Sarlacc bundt cake. A pretty tasty beginning, I’d say!

She recreated the omnivorous creature from “Return of the Jedi” in cake form, complete with little almond sliver spikes inside the center and cookie batter tentacles. I think the teeth she added are the icing on the cake (ahem – they’re made from frosting, after all…).

Be sure to check out her other Star Wars confections, such as Sarlacc cupcakes, Wampa cake, Tusken Raiders cookies, and Peppermint Jawa Brownies, as well as her Facebook page and Instagram feed. But I warn you, don’t do it on an empty stomach – her pics are mouth-watering!
