Want To See Iron Man Dancing With a T-Rex?

IBOTKS and T-Rex dancing

I had the pleasure of setting up shop at TopCon this past weekend, a small convention in Topeka, Kansas. It being their hometown, of course the IBOTKS were there (Iron Brothers of Topeka, KS).  They’re a family cosplay group that’s built some amazing Ironman themed cosplays, along with many other costumes too.  I just happened to catch this video of Ironman and War Machine getting their groove on with a T-Rex (and it’s hard to see, but there’s this little kid in the middle of it all dancing his little heart out too).  Needless to say, it was a fun weekend.  If you want to see more pictures from TopCon, head on over to their photo gallery!

This Asgardian Iron Man Armor is Better Than Anything Tony Stark Has

I want to just say, that as a slightly gaudy chick, I want this armor to cosplay as Iron Man. Not “Iron Woman.” I want this design. I’d wear it every. Day.

Samuel Lee of Prince Armory is behind such mind-blowing costume and armor creations as the medieval versions of The Joker, Loki and Darth Vader. Now he’s back, this time with a gorgeously detailed, leather and brass-detailed Asgardian Iron Man.

The one-of-a-kind suit, made from leather, with brass hardware, isn’t for sale, but he’s always willing to discuss custom orders. However, you may need to have Tony Stark-sized bank account to afford it. However, the Prince Armory is not revealing the armor’s cost, because it will most likely never be made again.

Iron Man Cutting Board

cutting board

I do enjoy the craftiness that goes on over at Imgur, but those posts are so short. Since it’s a photo-based site, there’s never enough info about the crafts to satisfy my geeky little brain. That’s part of the reason why I love Craftster so much… all the details of a geek craft you can handle!

Case in point: BadWolf314‘s Iron Man kitchen cutting board! BadWolf314 actually made this for another craftster in a swap and didn’t even keep this for herself!

It’s made out of Bloodwood for the red, the eyes are maple, and the rest of it is cherry. And each piece is 1/4″ wide. There was even a little blood shed over this project, where her knee got cut on a sharp edge. To finish it off, BadWolf314 did, “a TON of sanding,” and tung oil to bring out the patterns of the wood.

Iron Man Suit Made of Cardboard

Tony Stark doesn’t realize what he started when he created his first suit in those caves, because now anyone can make their own suits.

Taiwanese student and Cardboard Artist Kai-Xiang Xhong made a full-size, wearable Iron Man suit entirely out of cardboard for The Stan Winston School of Character Arts. His keeping the cardboard color and texture was deliberate, because that’s his style. It took Kai a year of working on the Iron Man suit in his spare time to complete it. Check out the SWSCA blog to see more of Kai’s creations.

Iron Man Fan Makes The Best Of a Broken Wrist

Are arm casts some kind of new fashion statement? Just two weeks ago, we had the TARDIS cast. Today, we have an Iron Man glove cast.

I don’t have any info on the designer of this cast; I only know that it came from Buzzfeed. And I’ve decided that if I ever break my arm or wrist, I’m making my cast into Spider-Man’s glove and sleeve.

Knit Your Own Iron Man or War Machine

So in the US Iron Man 3 Comes out today.  The perks of having a sibling in the hallowed halls of Marvel Comics means I saw it Monday (review here) and have red and gold armored Avenger crafts on the brain.  Red is already one of may favorite colors, this may get dangerous.

I’ve started small with just some Iron dolls from Irene McCormick designs that can be found on Raverly a site that brings together, fiber artists of all standings and is free to join.

She also has designs up for Black Widow, Superman, Spiderman, and (BBC) Merlin. Clearly a regular Geek Crafter.
