Tetris Bookshelves

tetris bookcase

I would absolutely love to have this set of Tetris bookshelves in my living room! Or my bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom, for that matter! They are so awesome! And the best bit is that each Tetris piece is separate, so you can arrange them however you’d like! It was made by johloh on Craftster, and I definitely think he should go into business making more!

Darwin – Friday Treasury

darwin treasury

Charles Darwin was one of the most influential minds of the 19th Century. To celebrate his contribution to science, here is a collection of arts and crafts inspired by Darwin and his work. As usual, click on the picture to go to the treasury!

Welcome To Level 7 – Snailvenger Patterns

snail flash

Many moons ago, on the ides of March, I posted about the Snailvengers and that there were more team members in the works and patterns in production. Crocheters gather your hooks! There are now patterns available in the etsy shop. And if that wasn’t good enough, look at Snail Coulson. Look at his CARDS. He has snail cap trading cards people. SNAIL CAP CARDS. And if somehow the snailvengers are not your speed. Maybe the scarlet speedster is more to your pace.

Don’t forget to check out the etsy shop or tumblr. You may notice a few snailifed heroes on a half shell as well.

Lightsaber Crochet Hook

lightsabercrochethook

Crocheting is already awesome, but you know what would make it even better?  Adding lightsabers.  Channel the force as you make scarves, dolls, and whatever else you like to create while wielding a lightsaber crochet hook.  They’re very nifty and might just help keep your hand from excess cramping.  Cherelle made these super fun, hook grips out of polymer clay.  The tutorial for the grip can be found here, or, if you don’t want to make one yourself, you can buy it at her Etsy shop.

11th Doctor fingerless gloves

11th Doctor fingerless gloves
I love these 11th Doctor fingerless gloves by Bobbie from BobbieBomber on Tumblr. She was inspired by a picture of a crocheted phone cover she saw on Google, and I can see this would be great for that too. There is no pattern, but they appear similar to the Iron Man-Inspired Crocheted Gloves linked here a few months back. Bobbie is also happy to make them, and ship worldwide, if you send her an inbox through tumblr, (though no mention of price) so for those of you who are not crochet inclined, you don’t need to miss out.

Crocheted Turtle Cozies!

Crocheted Turtle Cozies - Shark

Forget boring ol’ teapot cozies, turtle cozies are where it’s at! Seriously, how cool would it be to have your very own (albeit slow) lawn shark? Katie Bradley of Etsy shop Mossy Tortoise is the genius behind these cosplaying cuties. She sells the crochet patterns for the turtle cozies so you can make your very own or, if you’re crochet-challenged like me, you can request a custom made one.

Duun-dun…duun-dun…duun-dun…dun-dun dun-dun dun-dun dun-dun…doo-de-doo! (No, no, my cat didn’t walk across the keyboard, that’s obviously the theme from Jaws.)

And perhaps even more fun than Turtle Shark…Turtlesaurus!

Crocheted Turtle Cozies!

There are some thing to keep in mind when you cosplay with your wee turtle friends however. I personally don’t know much about keeping turtles are pets, but other people have pointed out that the cozies are definitely not meant to be a heat source or to be worn for long periods of time. And of course, keep an eye on the wee wooly beasts as well.
