Doctor Who Stacking Dolls

The season finale of Doctor Who is Saturday. I’m incredibly excited/sad, especially since Season 7 won’t air until next fall. In the mean time I can ogle this: Doctor Who stacking dolls! Molly23 made the set of 12 stacking dolls: all eleven Doctors (including a teeny tiny William Hartnell) that fit inside a TARDIS! I can’t think of a more perfect way to display your Who love: it really IS bigger on the inside!

Star Wars Terrarium at Powell’s Books for Cooks and Gardeners

Imagine my happiness when I was buying some books at my favorite Powell’s for Cooks and Gardeners (in SE Portland) on Tuesday, and saw this huge, super amazing Yoda-with-a-leashed-dinosaur terrarium in the shop window! Megan Walsh and her Powell’s co-workers made this Star Wars-meets-Land of the Lost world inside a large antiqued glass box with ferns and lots of other plants. It’s beautiful in person and they will even open the hinged doors so you can see the scene more closely!

I also got word that Megan has been working on a Star Trek: TNG terrarium (starring Captain Jean-Luc Picard, of course) and I’m sure hoping to see that one too… stay tuned.

Comic Book Hair Bows

Comic Book Hair BowsI play a lot of video games, but in my youth I was hard into comic books.  My favorites were always Marvel comics, though Batman was cool too.  Lately I have been combining these two aspects of my life with Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds for the Xbox 360.  So it was with this inspiration that I went searching for my all time favorite comic book character, Deadpool, on Etsy.

It was on SherryKCreations shop page that I found these wonderful Hair Bows.  They aren’t exclusively Marvel Comics, but I can forgive that.

BAM! Go check out the Hair Bows!

Star Wars “Rebel Scum” hat

So Star Wars is finally out on Blu Ray, and while I won’t be buying it, my brother did and he’s really excited about it. So in honor of everyone who is excited I present the knitted “Rebel Scum” hat! greenchick knitted this hat for her husband to wear when the Trilogy originally came out on dvd back in 2004.

I haven’t seen all of the changes made to the movies, what do those of you who bought the blu ray think of them?

Reader Submission: Morse Code “Epic Win” Necklace

Here‘s a submission from Megan “Captain Girl Geek” at the Girl Geek Boutique.

“Gunmetal silver beads (as dots) and silver, gold, and copper striped electronic components (choke coils, as dashes) spell out the phrase “EPIC WIN” in morse code: “. .–. .. -.-. .– .. -.”.”

If your first thought was WEWT!… hey… she’s got the earrings for you!

I’m kind of thinking of this as a princess-and-the-pea kind of deal. A girl geek walks around with this around her neck and the day a suave geeky male points and shouts “EPIC WIN” with a smug smile on his face is the day she’s found a geek worthy of being her Prince Charming…. or something…
