Amigurumi Fuzzy Soot Sprites
This week, as far as I am concerned, is Totoro week on Geekcrafts. (Please note that it is not in fact Totoro week on Geekcrafts, but we can let that slide.) These amigurumi Fuzzy Soot Sprites are adorable. You probably have a few soot sprites lurking around your house right now, and what better way to let them know they are welcome than to give them some friends to socialize with.

Steampunk Cereal Box Hat
This is absolutely brilliant! It looks like real wood, doesn’t it? Can you believe mieljolie made this out of cereal boxes? She made this for the “Day of Wrong” at her Renaissance Fair, since she decided to go with a Steampunk theme. She covered the cereal box (the brim is one piece-family sized Frosted Flakes) in paper mache and tissue paper, the painted it. The long scarf was inspired by the TV show Deadwood. mieljolie said if she makes another one, she’ll try to make it open at the hinges. I can’t wait to try something like this myself!

It’s a geek-culture mashup, don’t you love it? Scott Pilgrim + LittleBigPlanet = The Ramona Flowers Sackgirl Doll (omgwtfbbq so CUUUUUTE!)
In the words of the crafter Mike, owner of the Etsy shop MiCrochets:
“This little sackgirl was inspired by the SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD movie. She has a working zipper and her arms and legs move. She stands about 9” tall. Crochet goggles and purse are removable.”

Totoro Cameo Ring
Sometimes even a manly man like me lets out a squeal of glee upon discovering some awesome trinket. This was one of those times. I was introduced to the brilliance that is Totoro fairly late in life, as in earlier this year, but that doesn’t take away from the appeal.
This small cameo ring was made by Etsian munieca. It’s so cute it hurts.
