It’s definitely winter around here, and so, I think it is safe to say it’s “mitten season”. These Pac Man Felted Wool Mittens by EnviroCrafter are super awesome and look super warm. Not only that, but they are “green“, as they were made from felted wool from recycled sweaters and lined with new polar fleece insides! These are an awesome gift for the warm mitten loving, Pac Man aficionado in your life.
I recently featured a Blackberry case made by a follower of geek crafts on twitter, Dawn Crawford. Being the good wife that she is, she made her husband, Brian Crawford send us a couple submissions as well, and so we thank her, because this Space Invaders Star Wars Mashup Skateboard he made for the Bordo Bello fundraiser for the arts this year is just awesome. Not only did he take inspiration from the awesome Space Invaders 8-bit look, but he incorporated into a Star Wars theme, and if that wasn’t enough for you, this baby lights up!
Pictures don’t really do this beauty justice, so be sure to check out their husband & wife craft blog Crap I Make to see the video Dawn shot of her hubby’s most excellent creation!
My favorite character on Aqua Teen Hunger Force isn’t Meatwad or even Hand Banana (although he is a close second). No, my favorites are The Mooninites, so I *love* these crocheted versions of Ignignokt and Err by Craftster user chloeheartsowls.
The Super Colossal Crafty Wonderland sale is coming up this Sunday in Portland, Oregon, and there will be some fantastic geeky crafts for sale!
My Imaginary Boyfriend will have her screenprinted + embroidered robot ornaments there (I bought one from her at Felt Club two years ago and it is one of my all-time favorite holiday finds),
Berkley Illustration will have plenty of superhero artwork (like this Captain Burnside print),
Leethal will be selling her excellent Game Knitting ebook,
and Bread and Badger will have astronaut etched glassware!
If you’re not in Portland, no worries, all of these crafters have their work available online as well – click the photos or see the list of links below.
p.s. If you are coming to the sale, please stop by the craft demo area between 1 and 2:30 to make a set of button hairclips with me! Maybe some evil buttons?
You can find this adorable Yoshi and Baby Mario Laptop Decal at Lap Tatt’s etsy shop. If ever there were a laptop decal that was meant to be on an Apple computer, this is it! It’s not only a great Mario sticker, but it just looks so darn cute with Yoshi “eating” the Apple logo!
