ninja-scarf-1

You don’t need turtle power to make your own classic ninja turtles scarf.  Check out this free crochet pattern from the Inspiration Station!  This thing is too cute, and the pattern is actually fairly simple.  If you do try it, be sure to share pictures!

Skyrim Craft: Keening Dagger

Skyrim Keening dagger by Bill Doran Punished Props

You have admire some people’s dedication to their craft. Because he is so committed to attention to detail in his prop building, Bill Doran from Punished Props spent 10  hours on Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim gameplay to get just the right screen grabs of the Keening dagger. After he had the images, he crafted the schematics and got to work with resin, foam PVC, styrene, and Bondo. And a toilet paper tube. Lord Kagrenac, Chief Tonal Architect of the Dwemer, would be proud to own such a fine piece.

Be sure and check out some of Bill’s other projects, including a Borderlands Claptrap puppet, a Tomb Raider bow, and a Halo sniper rifle.

More Cosplay From Figments & Filaments in KC

18thCenturyCoat

This is the last of Figments and Filaments, a new cosplay convention in KC.  They had several really awesome costumes on display, including this really well made 18th century suit (a cutaway coat, waistcoat, and breeches).  All you need are hose, heeled shoes with buckles, ribbons, and a wig.  Men knew how to dress in the 1700s.

Meet the Iron Brothers of Topeka

ibots02

Have you heard of the Iron Brothers of Topeka? They’ve got some of the coolest cosplay I’ve ever seen, and it was especially cool to see them at Figments and Filaments in Kansas City.  The convention itself was pretty small, so we were able to get up close (and yes, that’s me) and get pictures.  By the way, that’s the Iron Brothers’ very own cosplay Stan Lee.

Launch into Hyperspace with This Star Wars Shelf

Star Wars fighter shelf hyperspace wall by Her Tool Belt

In honor of Star Wars Day tomorrow (May the Fourth…be with you!), I wanted to share this cool child’s bedroom decorating idea. Who am I kidding? This would be cool for any Star Wars fan, from padawan up to Jedi!

Amy from Her Tool Belt has put together an awesome tutorial on how to build a Star Wars shelf, complete with supply list, step-by-step instructions, and detailed photos. As you can tell from the photo above, the results are simply…stellar.

I love the extra details she also added around the top border of the room, taking advantage of Star Wars dingbat fonts to use as stencils.

Do you have any plans for Star Wars Day tomorrow? Share with us in a comment below!
