TARDIS Snack Cabinet

321756_06Sep14_WP_20140823_012

BadWolf314 of Boise, ID is a Whovian, and as such, needed a TARDIS in her home. Her husband wanted his own soda machine for their home. What to do, what to do?

BadWolf314 said if hubby wanted a soda machine, then it had to match their movie room. The body is built out of mostly plywood and MDF. Puck lights were used for the interior. The windows and Police Box signs are this stiff plastic stuff. I put vinyl over the plastic for the Police Public call signs. The top is one of those walkway lights you can get from your hardware store and we just painted it to match everything else. It stands at about 5’6″ tall. Click through her gallery to see more pictures.

While it’s not quite a soda machine, once you open it up, there is a small refrigerator and a microwave in there, so it does make for an awesome snack center during movie nights.

Lego Marvel Galactus Figure

galactus

This Lego Marvel Galactus minifig actually started out in life as the Lego Monster Fighters Mummy Clock, and it stood just over 9″ tall. The poster did some serious deconstruction to the clock to get it ready for sanding and painting. The horns on Galactus’ helmet were created from clear Plexiglas. Most of the detail pieces are 2mm craft foam; the others are dowel rod.

The poster was able to order decals online for the body details, but within the Imgur post, he/she posted the decals they designed, to scale, in case anyone wants to use them.

Steve of Steve’s Wooden Toys of New Zealand, posted this Rocking Ride-In X-Wing Fighter on Deviant Art.

The little R2-D2 in the back is removable so he can accompany the pilot to the swamps of wooden Degobah. The rocker is made of solid wood: pine, native macrocarpa and rimu. It measures 1150 mm (45 inches) long, 1200 mm (47 inches) wide, 650 mm (25.5 inches) tall, and the seating area is 280 mm (9 inches) wide. The wings can also be unbolted to allow for ease of intergalactic travel in the back of a medium sized car.

Make your Bedroom Bigger on the Inside With this TARDIS Fold-Down Bed

murphy bed

The Time Lords of Gallifrey know a thing or two about interior design. Blogger and DIY-er Stubbs from “The Stubby Thumb” wanted to to make her guest bedroom a little bigger on the inside, and since “Murphy beds” were a little too expensive, she decided to make one of her own.

Since Murphy beds are the ultimate space maximizers, it only made sense to build it using Time Lord technology: bigger on the inside! If you’re interested in making something like this, check out the complete blog entry/tutorial that Stubbs compiled over at her blog. Even of you don’t need a Murphy bed, you can use her guidance to turn a door, closet or table top into your very own TARDIS.
