Fandom Cats

Fandom Cats

Again and again, I saw adorable, little drawings of fandom characters as cats.  There were Supernatural cats, Sherlock cats, and Avengers cats.  It didn’t take long for all those cats to go to my head.  I couldn’t help but try to recreate some of their cute cattiness myself.  Castiel Cat and Dr. Horrible Cat are the results.

I drew their plushie patterns myself and made them with fleece and felt.  I tried to use fabric glue to attach Cas’s coat.  That was a mistake.  I ended up sewing most of their pieces together, but I was able to hot glue their eyes, hair, and noses.  I’m happy with the results.  They’re the cute, cuddly, and (slightly) silly looking representations of all those adorable, Internet kitties I had prancing around in my head.

Plants Vs Zombies Paper Toys

Plants Vs Zombies has been released for the BlackBerry Z10! And I have a BlackBerry Z10! So guess who’s been spending all of her (precious little) free time yelling at zombies?

These Plants vs. Zombies paper toys are probably going to be my next obsession. Paper crafting is super fun! It’s inexpensive, relatively easy to make, and there are oodles of awesome patterns out there…like these cuties from Mayainpaper! There are downloadable patterns for quite a few plants and zombies, but I think Crazy Dave might actually be my favorite.

Jawa Chupa Chup cover

Jawa chupa chupa cover

My eldest boy recently had a Star Wars birthday party. I was inspired by this pin, to sew some little cloaks for some lollipops, to make Jawa favors. I took notes and photos as I went, so I figured I may as well share the tutorial on my blog.

Of course, if you aren’t sewing inclined, but can’t do without these, the original pin I was inspired by points to a store, so you can buy some too!

Pokemon Badge Shadow Box Perler Display

Check out this Perler Bead Pokemon Badge display that a friend of mine made a couple of weeks ago for his girlfriend’s birthday. Awwwwww.

Shadow Box Pokemon Perler Bead Badges

He’s displayed the badges in a shadow box frame, set out from the backing on a few extra beads for that 3D look, and finished it with a Pokemon blue and yellow surround. The lady in question is apparently a huge Pokemon nut, so hopefully really appreciated his efforts! Who said romance was dead..?

    Good job, Chubbs :P
