Tentacle Chandeliers

octopus tentacle chandeliers

There really isn’t a whole lot that I can say about Adam Wallacavage’s tentacle chandeliers, other than they are stunning and beautiful and I want one of them! According to Adam’s website, it looks like he started making these beauties way back in 2006 until at least 2010, and they all have such sexy sounding French names. Gizmodo lists the prices on some of the chandeliers from $8,500 to $10,000.

Handmade Sally From “The Nightmare Before Christmas”

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Hannah081986, a poster over at Craftster, recently uploaded some pictures of the Sally doll from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” that she recently made.

“Sally is complete. Jack finally has a partner. She was fun to make. She stands about 18 inches tall. Her dress is made from felt pieces, and she is hand painted. What do you think? Smiley The movie is very dull colored, so she make look a bit bright but it gives her personality haha <3 She and Jack were made for my niece, she is IN LOVE with Nightmare before Christmas, so, naturally, I had to make them for her.”

For anyone interested in their own Sally doll, there is a free pattern on Ravelry for a crocheted version of a patchwork doll, courtesy of Irene Strange. While the Ravelry version isn’t named for Sally, take a look at her and decide for yourself.

Big Daddy Nerdigurumi!

big daddy ami

A few days ago, I stumbled upon this mind-blowing Amigurumi Big Daddy from Bioshock. Isn’t he amazing?! Emjay made Big Daddy, and many other amazing amigurumis, with lots of patterns (including Big Daddy) available FREE on her website, Nerdigurumi. I might just have to attempt to make a Big Daddy for my boyfriend’s birthday, although it would probably take me about 10 years to finish, looking at how fiddly the pattern is.

My other favorite patterns on Nerdigurumi are:

The Hobbit Friday Treasury

the hobbit

In celebration of ‘The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey’ coming out on Blu-Ray and DVD, I decided to make an Etsy treasury filled with hobbit inspired crafts! Click on the picture to visit the treasury!

(Okay, I know the last item is *technically* a quote from the Lord of the Rings, not the Hobbit, but it is Bilbo, and is one of my favourite Tolkien quotes ever…)
