Sewn Comic Book Wallet

DuctTuff is an Etsy store in Portland, OR that specializes in sewn wallets. One example is this Batman, Batwoman and Robin wallet, available for $14. It’s a handmade item, made of a comic book, sandwiched between layers of an adhesive vinyl laminate. This makes for a super durable and long lasting wallet that is very water resistant. Sewing it combined the quality and strength of a traditional wallet with the novelty of comics.

It also features: four card slots that can expand to accommodate more than one card each; a 3” x 8.25” cash pocket; comic images in cash pocket; and is about 4” x 3” when closed.

Even with the variety of wallet themes available in the shop, DuctTuff also makes custom orders.

Alice in Wonderland has always been one of my favourite books and films, and American McGee’s Alice Madness Returns is one of my favourite games. It is beautifully twisted and the artwork is gorgeous. The story takes the originally premise and continues it from a completely different point of view. Painted Calvin and Hobbes Shoes

When Bill Watterson ended his daily comic strip “Calvin and Hobbes” on Dec. 31, 1995, it left a void in a lot of our hearts. And even more so, because Mr. Watterson didn’t have any product licensing for our favorite troublemaker and his best friend tiger. But thanks to crafty people like Bdopeness here, there are people who can create their own Calvin and Hobbes merchandise.

Bdopeness paints custom shoes and recently did this pair of canvas shoes.

It’s not too early for Halloween Costume Ideas!

I just got to see the Minion movie this weekend (laugh-out-loud-adorable, by the way) and thought I’d share this epic Minion Halloween Costume tutorial with you all.  Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous posted this one a couple of years ago, but given the recent movie, I imagine Minions will be super popular this year.  Plus, I think it’d be pretty easy to adapt these patterns to adult sizes, if you’re of the adventurous type.
