Release the KRAKEN!!!!
I’ve always wanted to say that!
Foxy Blue is an artist up in Ontario. Recently, she posted a bathroom make over she did for her kids, on Craftster, which included some hardware changes and an original partial mural.
It’s a complete transformation from the Mickey Mouse-themed bathroom it used to be. If you scroll through her posting, you’ll see some images from before the re-do.
Star Wars Craft: Canvas Posters
Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you! In honor of this geek holiday, I bring you this cool Star Wars canvas poster craft from Christy Bright at Beach Brights.
Following a tutorial in DIY magazine, she Mod Podge’d two Star Wars posters to giant canvases to hang in her son’s Star Wars themed bedroom. She provided the steps to the canvas-poster project in a follow-up post.
Here is a pic of the posters hanging in the room – I love the collection of lightsabers hanging above the Star Wars adorned bed!
I love this idea of posters on canvas – Christy mentioned that the art looks painted on. I bet you could use Mod Podge Brushstroke to really enhance the effect. I’m thinking I may try my hand at it for some upcoming geek gift giving opportunities. What poster would you like to see on canvas?

Star Wars Crafts: Amigurumi Wampa
When I was a kid, I was pretty scared during the scene when the Wampa attacks Luke in “The Empire Strikes Back,” but who could be scared of this little guy? Hook yourself up with this great amigurumi Wampa pattern from Ana at MysteriousCats.
Also be sure to check out her other Star Wars patterns: Tie Fighter, Imperial Walker and other Star Wars ships.

The Winter Soldier Fingerless Mitts
So today in the states at least a lovely movie came out. Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Go see it, its fun and a great conspiracy meets Superhero type movie. I even wrote a review here, there is a break before the spoilers if you want to take a read. So in that fashion I wanted a Winter Soldier Geek Craft for today. I mean he shares the name of the movie with Cap, and I’ve already posted a Captain America Sweater.
So this time it’s the Winter Soldier. This free pattern by Maratini on Ravelry are a perfect way to get a fun fiber made metal arm. Much better than being captured and experimented on by evil organizations I would say. And that whole losing an arm bit. That doesn’t seem like any fun.
Stained Spock Glass Mirror
Mirror mirror on the wall, whose the most logical of them all? That’s an easy question to answer when you’re talking about Mr. Spock!
GlassKissinCreations, an Etsy store in Latrobe, PA, has created a one of a kind stained glass mirror of our favorite Vulcan.
It’s made from black stained glass, cream stained glass, mirror, copper foil, solder, and copper wire. His eyebrows are painted on, and the mirror measures 10 1/2″ x 7 1/2″.
