Doctor Van Whoopla

There is just so much awesome in this hoop! Craftster user onegroovyday made this for the Hoopla Round 4 swap, and I am seriously jealous of her partner! Even if she had stopped at the Van Gogh part it would have been gorgeous, but it just keeps getting better! The theme for Round 4 was a diptych–so it had to be two related hoops. And the second hoop is in the TARDIS!! There are more pictures in the post, and I highly recommend you go look, there’s SO much detail. Here is something else amazing: onegroovyday has never seen Doctor Who! “I have never watched Doctor Who…. I did a lot of image searching and some you tube viewing…”

Reader Submission: Stay Puft Amigurumi

If there are two things I love, they are the Ghostbusters movies, and Bill Murray. Yes, I know Bill Murray was in both Ghostbusters movies, that really isn’t the point. The point is, Tracey, at Mostly Nerdy Crochet, crocheted this desk buddy Stay Puft Amigurumi and I love him. I just love him!

Doctor Who Inspired Fibonacci Scarf

I realize we have had quite a bit of Doctor Who crafts lately, but what do you expect–geek website+new season looming=lots of that; plus, this is a math scarf, too. Noodle created this awesome two color Doctor Who Inspired Fibonacci Scarf for her boyfriend, who wanted a Tom Baker-esque scarf, but wasn’t much into multiple colors. She had the genius idea of incorporating the Fibonacci sequence, and as  you can see, it was a total success.

Dr Who Cross Stitch

I like the bit when someone says it’s bigger on the inside! I always look forward to that.

This is the creation of Crafty TARDIS/livejournal member Xcarex. I love it.

If you’re not plugged into Crafty TARDIS you should be! I love the charming honesty of this cross stitch, the way the TARDIS seems to be shining with all those dotted lines, and the care and attention taken over the different shades of blue.

Weeping Angel Statue (with Tutorial!)

I’m a massive Dr Who fan. I love the old stuff, but I’ve got to say, hands down, the weeping angels are the best villains from the newer series’.

Craftster user Fayeven has really blown my mind this week by taking an old unwanted Barbie doll and converting it into a super creepy weeping angel statuette.

I don’t know about you, I’d LOVE to have one of these in my house, but I’d also be kinda afraid too, luckily Fayeven has reassured us:

“… do not worry for me who fans, I am placing a mirror directly opposite her so she will be trapped.”

Good thinking Fayeven!

Anyone like me considering re-purposing their old Barbies is in luck, as Fayeven has shared a tutorial on how you can make your own Creepy Weeping Angel Doll over on her blog and on Craftster.
