In honor of the recent release of Despicable Me 2 (which was a fun flick, even though we had no children with us), here is the pattern for some crochet mini Minions! Aren’t they adorable? They would look great adorning someone’s cube at work, or stuffed in a toddler’s chubby little hand. :)
Back in April I went along to The Sydney Brick Show: a big Lego event where Lego sculptors bring some of their awesome creations and chat with other fanatics, whilst hundred of little kids run around suffering from excitement overload. I was originally going to write an entire post about the event, but there was just so much awesome stuff there, that I’ve kind had to just cut it down to the best for now. And here you are: Han Solo Lego Pixel Art.
This incredible portrait of Star Wars’ Han Solo is something like 1 metre squared and is made up of over TWENTY THOUSAND bricks. And they are all those tiny “one-ers” that you miss when clearing up and then stand on days later.

It’s no surprise that I am a fan of the poppets that SpeakGeekandEnter makes. This is now the third (or maybe fourth, I’ve lost track) poppet of her’s that I’ve posted here.
“The amazing Poppet-making Goddess Lanikins graciously agreed to do a swap with lil ol’ me, and this was what I came up with for her. We gave each other a list of characters we love and would like to see plushified/poppetfied and on her list two things caught my eye; Michonne (from The Walking Dead) and ZOMBIES. A perfect combination,” SGAE wrote about this set of poppets.
“Her hair is yarn and took foreverrrr to arrive, but it was worth the wait, I think. Each strand has been individually sewn into her head, and I kind of cheated and her bandana is sewn into her head, too.”
“His face. O__O I had no idea on how I was going to pull off the “no lower jaw” look. I did some test with trying to make a plush with half a face, which all turned out as truly spectacular fails, haha. I ended up painting it to (hopefully) give some kind of illusion of him missing his jaw.”

This project isn’t so crafty as it is DIY, but I figured if you have Legos around your house, this might come in handy: Lego Instruction Books, Organized.
This is one of those projects that is a bit time-consuming, but so worth it in the end.
I have crochet patterns in a binder, in different sections like hats, shrugs, afghans, and bags. Can you think of some booklets that might be handy to have all page-protectored & binder-ized?
LadyKatka from Ravelry made this incredibly huge Totoro. Seriously, he weighs 14.8 lbs. For those people without Ravelry accounts, do not despair, all the photos are on Flickr too. It’s worth clicking through for the rest of the photos – my favourite is the one where he takes up her entire backseat.
