Another late night conference call, and another night where I’m trying to find something to do at my desk. Thankfully the internet has some great suggestions for things you can construct out of office supplies. Here’s a small round up of things I found this evening (links at the bottom). Today, we have another project by SpeakGeekAndEnter, a regular poster over at Crafter. SGAE was last featured here in March 2013 for the Daryl Dixon plush from “The Walking Dead.” Today’s entry is Amy Pond, “The Girl Who Waited.”
‘I’ve been working to try and add in more details to my plushies — since most of my plushies are one of a kind dolls, I figure I might as well make them the very best, with as many details, as I can. I used silver metallic thread for her ‘zipper’ which I loveeeee. And bonus, I even got to use some of those “fancy” stitches on my machine that I never thought I’d use.”

Hannah081986, a poster over at Craftster, recently uploaded some pictures of the Sally doll from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” that she recently made.
“Sally is complete. Jack finally has a partner. She was fun to make. She stands about 18 inches tall. Her dress is made from felt pieces, and she is hand painted. What do you think?
The movie is very dull colored, so she make look a bit bright but it gives her personality haha <3 She and Jack were made for my niece, she is IN LOVE with Nightmare before Christmas, so, naturally, I had to make them for her.”

I’m a bit of a fan of Discworld from way back, so when I saw Kati (Luna1130) post this Death of Rats in Nerd Wars on Ravelry, I knew I just had to share it with you. Made from the base pattern of PlanetJune’s Lemmings, this little guy is all set to SQUEAK his way right into your heart!
Whilst doing some research for my own geeky Stargate craft I came across this truly amazing Lego Stargate Model. It originally hit the Internet back in 2005 on mocpages.com, so apologies if you’ve seen this before a hundred times, but I just could not not post it.
It even has moving parts and light up chevrons! If I had this model, it would perhaps even bump my enormous Space Shuttle Lego from pride of place on the bookcase.

A little something special from me this week. I’m going to see They Might Be Giants in concert in a few weeks time and I’m pretty excited. Since They came out last, eleven years ago, I’ve had three kids, who are big fans just like their mother. Meaning the three kids dvds (Here Come the ABCs, Here Come the 123s, and Here Comes Science) get a lot of air time in our household.
In the first two dvds, John and John appear to introduce the song segments in the guise of puppets. Large puppets. But it seemed to me, these would make great tiny puppets too. Tiny finger puppets. So I made some. And because I’m so generous, I wrote down the pattern, to share here, exclusively, so you can have your own tiny Johns too! Keep reading after the jump for the pattern!
