New Doctor Who Amigurumi Dolls

war doctor

Austin-based artist Allison Hoffman makes crafty tributes to pop culture icons such as Pee-Wee Herman, Conan O’Brien, Carl Sagan, Willie Nelson, and Questlove, but it’s her new crocheted amigurumi dolls of “Doctor Who” Time Lords that seem to be getting a lot of attention.

Fans can make their own versions using her patterns available on Ravelry.

Crafty is Cool created her version of Peter Capaldi in crochet form.

Carved Crayons as Art

download

Artist Hoang Tran of Sunnyvale, CA carves intricate sculptures of characters from popular fiction like Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, and others, from large size Crayola crayons, which are slightly larger than the standard size. No paints are used on the crayons. Extra colors are melted from other crayons, applied and then carved.

You really need to go to her original post, linked above, to see the amazing job Knickertwist did on creating the tiny interior of 221B Baker Street! Let’s just say that it inlcudes furnishings SMALLER than a penny, all of them handmade! But she wasn’t done just yet.

She started getting requests to BUY her tiny little handmade apartment. And she just couldn’t part with it. So, she created a tutorial on how to create your very own (even smaller) 221B Baker Street from a matchbox!

And if you need more of a Knickertwist fix, check out her Pixie Hill blog.

TARDIS Closet

felony_melanie over at Reddit showed off the closet door and wall she recently painted to look like the TARDIS in outer space. felony_melanie is a professional artist, and this was for a little boy. He was in the hospital and when he came home this was in his room.

Her next mural is at a middle school to paint their rotunda like a South Carolina salt marsh.
