Game of Thrones Crafts: Amigurumi Starks & Lannisters

Game of Thrones Starks amigurumi

Now that HBO has announced the premiere date for the start of Season 4 of Game of Thrones, I thought it would be apt to share some Game of Thrones crafts.

Ravelry designer Kati Galusz has created a series of medieval amigurumi patterns inspired by the GoT characters, including the Starks (Eddard/Ned, Catelyn, Sansa, Arya, & Bran, plus the direwolves) and the Lannisters (Jaime, Cersei & Tyrion), plus Khal Drogo, Khalessi, and Khalessi’s dragons.

After the “Red Wedding” episode near the end of Season 3 (spoilers at GoT Wikia), we can’t wait to see how Season 4 progresses! Will you be following along?

TARDIS Gingerbread House

It’s not too far past the holidays for gingerbread yet, is it?

No? Alright, then check out this gingerbread TARDIS by Reddit user Fortunekitty. She went so far as to post her own tutorial for other Whovians to make their own holiday treat.

Fortunekitty’s TARDIS is made from white chocolate mixed with blue food coloring for the icing, gingerbread, and edible sugar paper for the printed signs.

Would this count at all towards the Doctor someday being a ginger? Probably not, but what a way to try!

Pattern: Our Wall Is Not For Target Practice Mitts

Wandering  Tumblr as one waits for a blizzard (oh its here guys its here) reminded me of something else that was back. The BBC’s Sherlock.  I saw, webpixies Fingerless Mitts and grinned. I mean it wouldn’t be the first time, that I had a themed post so welcome back Sherlock. We are quite happy that you live again even if it took a few years.

Webpixie used  the free pattern by Ampersand Designs  and altered the  mitten pattern into a pair of fingerless gloves. And one has to love the happy face addition on her mitts.  Mitten or Mitts, its a fun knittterly way to show your joy at returning to Baker Street.

Printables for a Doctor Who Party

Doctor Who printable cupcake toppers

Planning a Who-a-Thon for New Year’s Eve? I’ve got just what you need to invite friends and decorate! Kristi Duggins, aka Bohemian Bear on Etsy, has a whole slew of Doctor Who-related printables to help you get ready in a flash – no sonic screwdriver required!

Use her Printable Invitation to entice friends to attend, her DIY Bunting set to adorn your TARDIS (you have one in the corner, right?), and her Starry Night Circles to top a set of blue cupcakes.

Then when the evening is done, you can scrapbook your memories (any that the Silence didn’t steal, that is!) with her Starry Night Scrapbook set. For additional scrapbooking fodder, you can also check out the RetroDiva “Call the Doctor” digital scrapbook set I featured previously.

Which Doctor Who episode would you choose to have playing at the strike of midnight?

Eddie Munster Car from Halloween

eddie munster car

Hemi*Housewife from Crafster recently posted a project she had from Halloween. She took a well loved Little Tykes car and repainted it to go along with her two year old son’s Eddie Munster costume.

Hemi washed the car as best she could (hit the link above to see the “before” picture…Eddie’s ride was looking pretty rough), and spray painted it with Krylon Fusion. For the details, she hot glued leopard print polar fleece, wine velvet and gold tassel fringe, put rouched silver chiffon in the back window (going for that hearse chic kind of look), and finished the remaining raw edges of the fleece with a black rayon gimp braid. The only thing Hemi said she didn’t do to the car was to prime it before painting.
