Geeky Cookie Cutters!

Totoro and Oliver

I found some AMAZING cookie cutters on WarpZone Prints on Etsy, and I just could not resist trying them out!! So, I ordered a few and here’s the finished result! I absolutely love them!! I also have a Mr. Drippy cutter, but I wasn’t able to get the cutter to come out very well, so that needs some practice I think! Athey Moravetz from WarpZone prints makes all the cutters with a 3D printer, and can make custom cutters as well as all the ones in the store!

Nom nom – International Pi Day!

Nom nom - International Pi Day

Today is the 14th of March and that can only mean one thing. No, I don’t mean the birthday of Albert Einstein and Johann Strauss, I mean International Pi day! According to the Pi Day website:

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (a Greek letter) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.

Engraved Glasses

I’ve always loved the look of engraved glasses. Truthfully, I blame it on McDonalds and the glasses that they gave out for a Disney anniversary. I think it’s a really classy way of showing your geeky side, while still remaining functional.

Over at PlacidRain on Etsy, they’ve made this awesome idea and turned into a shop of amazing art. Custom glass fanart, ranging from Moogles and Chocobos to Super Mario to Pokemon, even Totoro. As I scroll through this shop I have a meme in my head shouting “BUY ALL OF THE GLASSES!!!!”

Metroid To Go.. and other game pieces

Metroid To Go Gaming is not part of my geekness — well, except for Angry Birds.  But I do have friends who are quite proficient in various video games and so have heard the term Metroid bandied about amongst them occasionally.  However, I did not realize just how cute they could be until I spotted Ellen Kramer‘s series of plush keychains of various characters from video games.  For sale in her shop on Etsy called Smellestine, the key chains include Pokeman, Mario Star and Metroid.

Tutorial Tuesday: Piranha Plant Party Bowls!

There are all sorts of rumours about backstage parties at rock concerts, where debauched millionaires would be served illegal substances off of naked ladies’ stomachs … but when I’m a millionaire I want candy… served from a Piranha Plant!

Luckily Cute as a Fox has a fantastic tutorial to enable my minions to make them for me! … THAT was lucky…

Seriously though, imagine having these at a wedding reception? how hard would that rock!?
