Tutorial Tuesday: Star Wars Knitting Charts

Via Pinterest

This baby blanket is practically a reason to procreate!
(Geekcrafts does not endorse the practice of procreation in order to receive knitted goods…)

Want to make it for someone you know/love/met today on a bus?! Well you’re in luck! because the fabulous Leah Fenton has made the knitting charts available free on Ravelry and her own website.

Perhaps you cross stitch and you can’t decide whether to knit them or use the charts as part of an awesome sampler? I can feel the conflict within you!

Girly Gone Geek: Batman Princess, plus Star Wars Princess

Though we’re months away from Halloween, what’s Valentine’s Day without a little sweetness?  Behold, the Batman Princess.

Batman Princess

As spotted on Comics Alliance, this post comes from Donkey’s tumblr page. Alas, with no commentary. I would love to know the backstory behind the costume, and the neighbors’ reactions.

Donkey’s tumblr page also links to her flickr album, where I found this little beauty – not quite Princess Leia, but a Star Wars princess, nonetheless.

I love how the little girl is allowed to embrace both her geeky and girly selves. How have you helped young girls feel empowered about their love of geeky things?

Domesticated Geek!

As much as we all LOVE to feed our geeky side, we all have to face the inevitable. The house has to be cleaned. The meals have to be cooked and laundry has to be folded.

HauteMess has the perfect pairing to help us all maintain our Geek while we do the domestic duties. Check out her R2D2 apron! While we would all love to have our own little bot to do all of these chores for us, we can wear this apron while we become our own domestic Force.

Also take a look at her other apron creations, Wonderwoman, Darth Vader and Harry Potter!

Star Wars Sarlacc Pit “Show Globe”

Star Wars Sarlacc Pit Show GlobeIn continuing with my current Star Wars obsession, I thought I would introduce you to this awesome Sarlacc Pit Monster “Show Globe” by xneaker on Etsy.  I had never heard of a Show Globe before, but I guess it would be hard to have a Snow Globe on Tatooine.

Now you can impress your friends, or punish your enemies, with a trip to the Great Pit of Carkoon to visit the Sarlacc Pit monster.  All this in the comfort of your very own home.

Check it out on Etsy!

Visit xneaker for more more awesomeness.
