Jem Costume
I’m having a childhood flashback to Saturday morning cartoons and playing with Barbies thanks to Craftster user lancmaltby. She sewed a fabulous Jem (of Jem and the Holograms!) costume last year. I still want to be Jem!

Here’s another cool Nightmare Before Christmas costume – Oogie Boogie. Craftster user ashleyjustine sewed this out of burlap and padded it with polyester fiber fill. She posted another picture showing the insects she added coming out of him, but because I’m terrified at the mere image of bugs, you’ll have to click through for that one.
Jane Austen, anyone? Craftster user bekibutton sewed this lovely outfit to attend the Jane Austen Festival Grand Regency Promenade. I also like her “Obligatory cat-gets-involved-with-crafts” pictures too :)
Please excuse this brief interruption of Halloween costume ideas for this very cool comforter with Wind Waker Link from The Legend of Zelda. She pieced him together and then sewed him onto an existing comforter.
merricat posted this baby dragon cape she sewed over on Instructables. Click through to see the wings, plus step-by-step photos of how she made the eyes with polymer clay.
Craftster user Rinnial made this Star Fleet uniform for her little girl. I would love to see a whole shipful of toddlers running around in any uniform. She sewed a “…circa 2366-2372 class A uniform (or Star Trek: The Next Generation, season 3-7) with appropriate insignia for a commander…” The insignia is done with fabric paint.
