Back in my day, vampires were awesome..

I’m here to shake my fist at ya’ll and tell you to get off my lawn as I reminisce about how amazing Buffy the Vampire Slayer was. WeeLittleStitches offers a variety of fantastic cross-stitch patterns that traverse all genres of geek. In fact, it was hard for me to select which one to feature in this post (I was really close to Golden Girls because dang, that was a good show) but it is really, really hard to beat Buffy (yes, including 6th season…I don’t get the hate!). Important note- Dawn has been left out. Heh!

Ideal for the Cave

We all dream of our perfect geek cave. It would have the perfect gaming set up complete with comfy seating, great sound system and of course, tons of storage for our games, books, and other assorted fun bit. What better way to combine that storage with a nod to one of the most well known of early video games, Pac Man!

I found this awesome bookshelf over on Etsy. Go check out LightYourselfUp’s shop!

Sherlock’s Cameo Appearance

Sherlock's Cameo AppearanceWe’re back visiting those unemployed Death Eaters at Death Eaters Delights again today because Qui has created the most amazing cameos.  It’s elementary that any Sherlock fan would love to wear one of these handcrafted Sherlock cameos when they’re out deducing the best way to enjoy the evening.  Measuring just under two inches, the brooch is dimensional and made of hard resin.

Cameos may be purchased with or without pin backing or as a cameo ribbon choker.

Qui also has plans in the works for creating a Doctor Watson cameo as well.

Warmth for Science Geeks

I know a number of our American readers are unreasonably warm and toasty in some kind of freakish heatwave, but those of us in the Frigid North (and, one presumes, also in some parts of the southern hemisphere) still have over a foot of snow to deal with. So forgive me, oh sufferers of 80+ degree temperatures, for sharing this awesome thing I found! (Consider it a possibility for very early start on making a Christmas list?)

These scarves, made by Becky Stern (homepage, Etsy) display elemental emission spectra. Silicon, uranium, and mercury are currently in stock, but you can also get a custom one of any other element you like, with some delay and possibly a little extra cost. (I found this applet linked from the Wikipedia page, if you want to choose an element that appeals to you. I definitely want Cobalt, no question.)

Plants vs. Zombies vs. Santa

I wish I had a tutorial to offer you, but I don’t. Here’s the (awesome) scoop anyway: This dude, Sean, has an apparently crafty and fabulous mother. He told her that he and his girlfriend were into Plants vs. Zombies shortly before Christmas. She made them these delightful stockings. He shared the story on Reddit, and it was subsequently tweeted by PopCap’s Director of Editorial and Social Media, Jeff Green. Who thought they were socks, before being corrected by much of the twitterverse. And now I share it with you. Enjoy.
