She threw The Ultimate Star Wars Party this past fall and it was mind blowing. The extensive menu included creations such as the Death Star Watermelon, Princess Leia Cupcakes, Han Solo in Carbonite Jell-o and much more. Jenn provided the recipes or how-to instructions for all of the items so you can craft your own Star Wars party.

Brainnnnns!

Let’s face it: Zombies are awesome. There isn’t any denying it, so it’s time to embrace it! LovieDovieAnn made this I Heart Zombies pillow for a friend, the perfect way to let the world know how you really feel about our undead friends. (via craftster).

And how  can you ignore a Zombie Cupcake? Honestly, just say the words “Zombie Cupcake” and tell me it doesn’t bring a smile to your face, even better when you realize it isn’t a punk band, but an actual baked treat. Porcalina posted this yummy ode to Zombies to her Flickr stream.

Hey, zombie kids are still kids, right? Why should a little zombie girl miss out on Girl Scouts just because she’s undead and likes to eat brains? She shouldn’t! So take a look at these Zombie Girl Scout Merit Badges that Wheezyx posted on craftster.

And if your zombie kiddies are into the outdoors, you might want to keep them from this summer camp, where “zombie killing” class happens right after arts & crafts. This Zombie Summer Camp Shirt was made and posted on craftster by Ladypie, complete with a big bloody hand print on the back.

The I Heart Zombies T-Shirt that daymoth made for her step-son’s birthday with stencils and posted it on craftster.

Geek Crafts at the State Fair

I went to the Oregon State Fair last weekend and got to see some pretty rad geek crafts there! In the Legos competition, this magnificent Yoda took a second prize.

In the 4-H Hall, this woodburned Twilight plaque won a Blue Award.

The 4-H Ceramics competition spotlighted some gorgeously intricate dragons — both of them took Blue Awards, too.

And I loved these 4-H science-fair projects — the illustrated poster explaining the recycled rocket and the self-starting electric motor were both awesome!

The Oregon State Fair runs through Labor Day — if you’re nearby, don’t miss it! And if you’ve seen (or made!) any other geek crafts at your state fair, I’d love to hear about them too…
