So long and thanks for all the fish!

So long and thanks for all the fish! Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is probably one of the greatest movies of all time.  The opening credits are one of my favorite parts of the movie, and Craftster user  Tracey_K made this needlework bundle-of-awesome as a housewarming gift!   I’ve never worked with metallic thread before, and she says it is no fun to work with… however, it looks amazing!!  The colors work perfectly, and font selection is spot on – this so tops my current favorite crafts!  (and inspires me to finally finish my own cross stitch)  Kudos, Tracey_K, I love it!

I’d Hit That

This Mario themed cross stitch was featured over at Mr. X Stitch as a “stitchgasm” and I can see why. I’m going to have to make one for myself. Deviant-experiment01 posted this, saying it was “My first real “project” when it came to cross stitching”. This is such a great idea!

Shut up, Wesley!

Wil Wheaton was my first crush. I guess that’s not really accurate: Wesley Crusher was my first crush; I had no idea who played him. I watched Star Trek: The Next Generation with my dad from the very beginning. Then suddenly there was this kid who was brilliant and pretty cute, and I got to see him every week. *Sigh* I was young and didn’t know how much everyone hated him. Fast forward 20 years and just about everyone knows who Wil Wheaton is, thanks to The Big Bang Theory, but only the TNG fans know “Shut up, Wesley!”

Cassey made this awesome cross stitch for her husband and posted it on her flickr. It’s her third time doing cross stitch and it looks way better than my third cross stitch did. Captain Picard really looks angry!

A Link to the Past Clock

Check it out!

The fact that Velvetrope cross stitched these sprites from The legend of Zelda: a link to the past is immense, the fact that they created a clock out of the finished project, nothing short of PURE GENIOUS. This was Velvetrope’s first project and first ever post on the sprite stitch boards, and I’ll certainly be keeping my eyes open for future creations.
