“Is this a test?” – Captain America WWII Shield

With the most recent Avengers movie trailer released, it was high time for me to finally find some awesome Avengers crafts.

In my search for some Avengers crafts, I ran across this Instructable by MonkeyWork for a Less Than $20.00 WWII Captain America Shield .

Now, I”m not exactly sure why, but I’ve always liked this shield more than his circle shield. When it was first announced that they were doing a Captain America movie, I was terrified. Until this promotional picture came out. Once that picture hit the interweb, I was sold.

MonkeyWork’s instructable has very clear and easy to follow steps in making this iconic shield. With this instructable, I now have a new item to add to my gear for the midnight showing of The Avengers.

Captain America Duct Tape Wallet

Captain America Duct Tape WalletYesterday, I went to see Captain America.  It inspired me to look for something awesome that was related to the first Avenger. I used to make duct tape wallets, and they will always have a special place in my heart, but this is a seriously cool wallet.

DucttapeDad on Etsy brings Duct Tape Wallets to the next level.  Inside there is room for several credit cards as well as an ID window.  That’s right.  A freaking ID window in a duct tape wallet.  How cool is that?

Go check out this awesome wallet!

Knit a Captain Marvel Sweater

I’m am starting quite the collection of sweaters I want to knit because there keep being awesome patterns that I stumble across. Most recently it was coming across a finished Captain Marvel sweater. Then a little while ago, the knitter put up a chart to help make your very own.

Civil War Themed Lego Mural – What More Is There To Say?

AllenTHickmanLegoMural

A few weeks ago I got to meet one of the artists behind the incredible Lego work I kept seeing at area conventions. His name is Allen T. Hickman. For Planet Comicon, he created this amazing Captain America: Civil War mural. That Captain America Shield? He created that too.  And people, he doesn’t use a computer program to do it. Want to see more of his awesome stuff (not just murals, but fully realized Lego models too!), then check out Allen’s Facebook Page and take a look at some of his incredible creations.  Be sure to hop on over to The Just Brick League Facebook Page too and check out more of his Lego masterpieces.  You can also find video of the Lego awesomeness that Allen and Ty Forshee brought to Planet Comicon 2015 on YouTube, posted by Gabe Counts.

What Team Are You On? Cap or Iron Man?

craftymcfangirl-captain-america-civil-war-boxes-X1920x1080

With this tutorial from Crafty McFangirl you won’t have to choose sides. You can make both cool boxes, and just in time for Mother’s Day, too. I don’t know a mom out there that doesn’t like organizational tools. Plus, you can run with the concept and techniques covered in the really excellent video tutorial and make boxes for all the Avengers (or Justice League too!).

The Winter Soldier Fingerless Mitts

So today in the states at least a lovely movie came out. Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  Go see it, its fun and a great conspiracy meets Superhero type movie. I even wrote a review here, there is a break before the spoilers if you want to take a read.  So in that fashion I wanted a Winter Soldier Geek Craft for today. I mean he shares the name of the movie with Cap, and  I’ve already posted a Captain America Sweater.

So this time it’s the Winter Soldier.  This free pattern by Maratini on Ravelry are a perfect way to get a fun fiber made metal arm. Much better than being captured and experimented on by evil organizations I would say.  And that whole losing an arm bit. That doesn’t seem like any fun.
