A Stylish Jacket Made From Comic-Con Bags

comic-con-bag-jacket-600x600

It’s that time of year again….COMIC-CON!!!!

Amy Ratcliffe at Fashionably Geek, posted, “One of many of my favorite parts about San Diego Comic-Con is seeing what talented cosplayers and creative folk do with the gigantic swag bags that come out each year. I’ve seen them turned into dresses, pants, capes, and now a jacket! I love the styling on this swag bag jacket, and I particularly appreciate the fact that the wearer decided to pair it with a bow tie and a sonic screwdriver.”

A Nerd Bouquet

sherlock doctor who bouquet

What’s geekier than a Sherlock Holmes wedding? How about a Doctor Who wedding? Or… wait for it… a Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Who wedding? Sadly, I can’t access what I hope are many more pictures because flickr is being janky, but the first image is quite promising! It’s a bridal bouquet made from pages of Sherlock Holmes and with a sonic screwdriver stem. And, if the bouquet doesn’t satisfy your Whovian/Holmesian cravings, just rewatch (yes, I said rewatch; I know you’ve all seen it at least once!) the Doctor and Sherlock face off via the song “Anything You Can Do.”

Freezer Paper TARDIS Hoodie

Hello Geeks!

Today I would like to show you this amazing TARDIS hoodie from Samantha_McKay on Crafster.

She ordered her brother a sonic screwdriver set for Christmas and decided that he needed something to go with it; she looked up some designs on the internet but none were quite right.

So she sketched her own design and made a stencil out of Freezer Paper and applied it to a plain hoodie (Blue of course).

Reader Submission: Dr Who Plush!

Geekcrafts reader Rebecca made this plushie Tenth Doctor for a friend who, like many of us, has more than a slight attraction to David Tennant’s Doctor. Rebecca writes:

“I made this Doctor Doll for my friend, who has a major crush on Ten [who doesn’t?!] Her husband tells me she sleeps with him [as in, the doll] in her clutches every night)  After posting the photos on facebook, some of her friends have since commissioned me to make them their own Tens, but nothing compares to the original)”

Its always nice to have your work appreciated Lauren, I love your little Ten. Especially his cheeky little smile and diddy sonic screwdriver! Do you want to see your work here? Let us know about it by using the submit a Geekcraft link.

Tutorial Tuesday! Reverse Stencilled Tote Bag

Here’s a neat idea! lets think ‘outside the stencil’.

That’s exactly what jennieingram did when she had to quickly step into the Dr Who Swap on Craftster. Round 5 of the Dr Who swap that is… these swaps are hugely popular, they’re going to go on forever! Round 6 is crafting away as I type!

Jennie has shared a tutorial on how to achieve this effective technique on her blog, and also on Craftster.

But wait, there’s more! Turns out Jennie is quite an avid Geek-Crafter and tutorial writer. Check out her Doctor’s Companion Charm Bracelet and her tutorial on how to make Laminated Paper Bookmarks including a sonic screwdriver and a golden snitch.
