All Your Blogs Are Belong To Us.
Greetings fellow geek crafters. I am one of you newest bloggers to join the team. My name is Meghan and I am a geek, borderline nerd, with 4 kids, and I can’t stop crafting. I make ridiculous things all the time, especially while watching cartoons. Here is a sample of one my my most ambitious geek crafts, The Periodic Table of Elements in cross stitch. It took me a long time, like all the episodes of Firefly, Futurama (twice) and Home Movies to complete. I designed the pattern using KXStitch, which is an awesome Linux program you must check out.
I’m super excited to scour the blog-o-sphere, in search of the greatest and geekiest crafts I can find, plus a few of my own, and to share them with you.
You can check out some of the other geeky things I’ve done on Instructables as Domestic_engineer.
Harness the Power of the Keyblade
When battling the Heartless, it’s always good to have your trusty Keyblade with you.
Jewelry by Aimee has created the perfect necklaces to carry your many different keyblades with you at all times.
These necklaces are awesome, and come in a handful of the different kinds of Keyblades found in Kingdom Hearts. My personal favorites are the Fairy Harp Keyblade and the Oathkeeper Keyblade.
Wheaton’s Law Cross Stitch
When it comes to actors there is one fine young man whom my BF and I share a great passion for- Wil Wheaton, however I’d like to point out for entirely different reasons! So when I stumbled across this amazing cross-stitch, by geeky-licious Craftster Menolly07, I couldn’t help but smile.
With Christmas just a few weeks away a Wheaton inspired gift could be the way forward but if cross stitch sends a shiver down your spine here is another project you might enjoy.
Crafty lady Futuregirl made an amazing miniature Wheaton clown sweater and has generously supplied full construction details. Alternatively you can buy a man-size version from stupidnfunnytshirtgifts.com
It’s-a Me, Anna
Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as when Mario says it. Oh well.
I’m just taking a few minutes to introduce myself. I’m one of the new bloggers here on GeekCraft.com, and I’ll be posting every Sunday.
I currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah with my husband and our two cats, Aerith (named after a character from Final Fantasy VII) and Rikku (after a character from Final Fantasy X).
Most of my geekiness comes from watching copious amounts of television, that usually have some sort of geek tie-in, like, The Big Bang Theory, Warehouse 13, Doctor Who, and anything made by Joss Whedon.
The way that I geekcraft is mostly by making plushies of my favorite characters from TV shows (though currently I’ve only made characters from Doctor Who, I’m working on others).
When not watching far too much television for one person to handle, I’m making YouTube videos with my friends, and playing on Photoshop.
Feel free to check out my bio and the other new blogger bios in the about page.
Allons-y,
Anna
Hello from Lizzy!!!
Hi guys, I’m Lizzy and I’ll be posting amazing things for your delectation every Sunday. I’m in my third year of university in London, England, and I study Costume. I make wonderful outfits for stage and screen and I’m particularly passionate about historical costumes. My main geeky interests include snuggling down with Studio Ghibli, watching Star Trek repeats with my wonderfully nerdy boyfriend and enjoying impromptu Star Wars marathons. So when I’m not sewing, or geek-ing, I’m geek crafting. If you would like to know any more about my rather mundane life or about any of the other new bloggers here at geekcrafts.com feel free to head over to the about page. I hope you lot have a lovely Sunday and enjoy my very first ‘official’ post a little later on.
Lizzy
