Pretty cunning, don’tchya think?

“Man walks down the street in that hat…People know he’s not afraid of anything”. Ah, Firefly. No better way to recognize a fellow Browncoat than by seeing their “Jayne” hat. Or in this case, a hat cross stitch. silentblair stitch the iconic hat with the quote from the episode “The Message” (where we see Jayne get it). The pom poms are 3D, which is a really cute touch. She also backed it in “Browncoat issue underpants plaid”. Of course, now “Hero of Canton” is stuck in my head…

Tutorial Tuesday: Goomba Dishcloth

Valerie from Der Himmel ist Grau (The Sky is Grey… in case you’re wondering) sent in a link to her blog.

Just so you know… she’s a crochet dishcloth pixel art ninja.

She’s made up crochet/knitting charts so that you too can crochet dishcloths adorned with goombas, koopa troopers, yetis, pac men and yummy yummy ghosts. Go for it!

Steampunk Cthulhu

Who doesn’t love an adorable Cthulhu? SpookyPooky created this tiny (3 inch tall) Cthulhu stuffy for the One Tiny Stuffie swap over at Craftster. Her lucky partner’s survey said she liked “cryptids, sea creatures/monsters, anything a little unusual, steampunk, Neil Gaiman inspired…She also said she loves anything with a top hat and a mustache.” So Steampunk Cthulhu was born! I love that she added a mustache! You can see more pictures in the post, including his filigree-touched wings and the mini I, Cthulhu biography “written” by Neil Gaiman SpookyPooky made to go with it.
