Round Up: 5 Fun Yo Gabba Gabba Crafts
Is Yo Gabba Gabba geeky? I’m not sure, but it is on a lot in our house, and I am geeky, so I say yes. Plus there is a magic robot on the show, and who can complain about a show that takes a couple minutes here and there to teach kids how to beat box? Not me. So I scoured the web for five of the most fun Yo Gabba Gabba crafts (one for each character, excluding DJ Lance Rock).
1. Felt Muno
Muno (he’s tall and friendly!) is perhaps the most recognized Yo Gabba Gabba character, which is why Catango, on Craftster, remembered him when left with two hours before a birthday party, and no gift! Yes, that’s right, in two hours, she went through her fabric, googled Muno, and stitched this awesome Felt Muno doll together for a friend’s child (who, of course, picked it up and danced around with joy)!
Big kudos to Catango for whipping this guy together under pressure! Procrastinators bow to you!
2. Foofa Tee Shirt
Foofa (she’s pink and happy!) is an odd little monster with a head shaped like a tear drop, and a big flower on her head, a big hit for little girl Gabba fans.
You can find this adorable Foofa Tee Shirt in the CarouselCraftsWI Etsy shop, along with all the other Yo Gabba Gabba monsters. The face is felt applique, with a machine zig zagged border–and the finished product is awesome (the model is pretty cute, too).
3. Brobee Fleece Soaker
Brobee (the little green one!) is a fuzzy, long armed monster that is best known for having a party in his tummy.
BugOnARug makes these awesome fleece soakers featuring Brobee and all your other favorite monsters and you can get them from the BugOnARug etsy shop! For those not “in the know” a fleece soaker is a type of cover for cloth diapers, and fleece shorties are a popular choice for parents using “fitted” cloth diapers.
4. Toodee Amigurumi
Toodee (she likes to have fun!) is what seems to be a cross between a cat and a dinosaur. She seems to get into lots of trouble, but manages to get along well in Gabbaland and, of course, have lots of fun!
AlieCat30, a poster on Craftster, crocheted this super cute Toodee Amigurumi as the fourth in her series of Yo Gabba Gabba amigurumis. I personally love the attention to detail on Toodee‘s eyes and whiskers.
5. Plex Cookies
Plex (a magic robot!) is the robot responsible for getting special guest stars, DJ Lance Rock, and even snacks in and out of Gabbaland.
Edeliu826 bakes and decorates these Plex Cookies that you can purchase by the 2 dozen on Etsy. You don’t have to read Geek Crafts very often to know if there are two things we love, they are robots and things we can eat. Plex Cookies fit both of these requirements!
Magritte Craft X 2
I saw my friend LeBrie Rich of PenFelt at Crafty Wonderland this weekend and marveled at her intricate needle-felted Magritte tribute! Awesome. She also has a PenFelted Andy Warhol (a Campbell’s Soup can), a Picasso, a Matisse, and many other masterpieces of wool felt amazingness in her collection (behind a velvet rope, which was an especially awesome touch).
Meanwhile, John Lohman‘s Mario Magritte (a stellar contribution to World of Geekcraft) is one of my favorite cross-stitches ever. Just love it! See a whole lot more of his work at Sprite Stitch.
Today the World of Geekcraft tour heads to IndieFixx! Huge thanks to everyone who’s been supporting the book – I really appreciate it!

Chewbacca of the Dead
katiekutthroat is known on Craftster for stitching up the most provocative, funny and downright naughty needlework.
I really love her “don’t make me poison your food” and her ever-growing collection of NSFW cross-stitch
This is just downright cute! It’s based on the artwork of Jose Pulido, but of course it’s Katie’s colouring and tiny, tidy stitching that really makes the piece.
Geekopolis Sale
Our very own Redd is having a sale in her Etsy shop, Geekopolis. She needs to raise funds quick for a very serious Xbox emergency, so go help her out and use coupon code XBOX20 to save 20% on awesome geeky crafts like this cross-stitched piece. Sale ends February 4th.
Geek Glasses Roundup
Nothing says geek love to me quite like big plastic nerd glasses do, so this week’s roundup theme is geek glasses crafts!
So here we go, in no particular order…
DeviantArt user TheNaughtySeamstress made this emo squid. I think he looks quite well-read. His creator says: “This little squid loves Death Cab for Cutie, scarves, and argyle sweaters with tight jeans.” Well there you have it.
For those of us who never want to take our glasses off, even at bedtime, Etsy seller BibBon is selling this stylish glasses-covered sleep mask. Ohh the geek dreams you could have.
Also available for purchase on etsy, a spectacles ring made by seller lsette. She also has these tiny little glasses available as earrings!
Perhaps not purely a craft, but certainly valuable to geeks everywhere, is this glasses-shaped USB drive sold by imm living.
The tiniest lil nerd you know needs this perfect onesie from HutchMe’s Etsy shop. In fact, she sells many types of onesies suitable for geek babies (and their parents), including many with a Star Wars theme.
For those few geeks who do not require corrective lenses, but still want to make their geekiness perfectly clear, artlife on Etsy sells these 1.5-inch badge buttons for you to wear with your pocket protectors.
This past Christmas, craftster member lilliesinmycereal decorated with a ton of Hello Kitties, and also included this special nerd Hello Kitty. Check out the rest of her decorations–they look really cute all grouped together!
Any self-respecting globe-trotting geek needs a snazzy place to keep her/his passport, and Etsy seller Jenni20 has you covered. Although this photo shows it in green, black and raspberry are also available.
Close cousin to the traditional geek glasses is the cats eye glasses. youheartus’s Etsy shop has numerous needlepoint designs for sale, but I particularly like this one with the glasses, especially with the tiny rhinestone details on the corners.
Rounding out this week’s roundup is this awesome lime green tote from Etsy seller naomicayne. If you’re more interested in a nerdy t-shirt, Naomi’s got that too.
That’s it for this week’s roundup! Everyone enjoy the weekend!
