Tutorial Tuesday! Teddy Bear Labcoat!

Another one from me, on the Geeky Sweetheart blog you can now find a  pattern and tutorial to make a super cute lab coat … for your teddy bear!

I was asked by a friend to make this, and was surprised to find that there didn’t seem to be any patterns or tutorials on the internet, BAD internet. Anyhow, since I had to draft the pattern myself I thought I’d share it with you all.

Come on Geekcrafters, lets do SCIENCE!

Retro Robot Plushie Pattern

Retro Robot PlushIt’s the 21st century, and I have to say, I’m pretty darn disappointed. I thought by now we’d have flying cars, and that every home would have their own personal robot servant. Until the times catch up with my unrealistic expectations, I’ll just have to go DIY.

Luckily, I won’t have to design my ‘bot from scratch, thanks to this adorable Retro Robot plushie pattern from Gulf Coast Cottage. He’s got everything I want in a robot: flexible arms, eco-friendly wind-up powers, and a fully huggable chassis.

For those of you who already have plush robot minions, you should check out the Gulf Coast Cottage Etsy shop, anyway. It’s full of the most adorable felt food and play set patterns (including a super-neat under the sea set) you’ve ever seen!

Pure Unbridled Manliness!

Testosterowned! Is this on?  I can never tell if these things are working.  Oh, it is?  Excellent!  We can just edit out the part where it looked like I didn’t know that.

My name is Pauly.  I spend a lot of my time suspended in the air in comfortable chairs, or tasting strange foods, but when I am not traveling I am usually playing video games or thinking about playing video games.  I am married to the lovely Redd and together we run Geekopolis, both the blog and the shop.  As you can tell by my picture, I am very manly.  I grew that mustache overnight in anticipation of taking this photo.  You can find me all over the web, but mostly on Twitter.

Slime Mold Quilt

You know you’re a geek when you say something like: “I’d love it if some one made me a microbe quilt”. That’s exactly what waggonswest‘s Mini Art Quilt Swap 4 partner said, and this is the result! It’s not very often you get to say how pretty mold is. The quilt is based on a picture from the Scientific American webpage. Waggonswest painted, fused, embroidered, and beaded this quilt, making it an epic work of art.

Reader Submission: Light Up Portal Sentry Turret Plush

We’ve seen a few Portal crafts here on Geekcrafts. Indeed, across the internet, portal crafts have become a bit of a meme in themselves.

But when Geekcrafts reader and Deviantartist MelloReflections sent us her light up sentry turret plush it really caught our eye… I mean, what could be more ‘geekcrafts’ than a plush, modelled on a game, with electronic bits!!

I love things that light up!

Have you made something that lights up? Hit us up by filling in the submit a geekcraft form.
