Have I ever mentioned that my husband is a huge geek, yet not your typical geek? He’s obsessed with computers but does not like sci-fi, comic books, or video games. You can all gasp in horror now. Watching The Big Bang Theory together is funny because I get all the geeky pop culture references and he gets all the actual science references. Everyone’s got their strong points, right? Anyway, I was *thrilled* to see this on Craftster tonight! Lady Leitzen stitched up Sheldon’s catch phrase, Bazinga. The little Star Trek hand is great and she even thought up ways to make this more awesome:
i think i might have to do another one, but if i do, i’d change the “i” in bazinga to a lightning bolt (for the flash), then around the lizard and spock i’d do a yellow rose (for texas) on each side, then the outermost flowers i’d change to double helixes, or atoms or something.
I might have to make this for my husband for Christmas :)
I don’t like to play favorites, but I always get excited when I see a submission from our self proclaimed number one fan, Dawn Crawford. She and her equally geektastic husband, Brian, participate in the annual Bordo Bello Skateboard Art Fundraiser, last year, we featured her husband’s amazing Space Invaders Star Wars Mashup Skateboard (it lit up!) and this year, I couldn’t help myself when I saw this R2 Board2 on her blog.
I have posted TARDIS quilts before, simply because I absolutely love them, and I love seeing new takes on it. Wendy posted this awesome TARDIS Star Quilt on her blog, the star quilting just makes this one! It is totally perfect for snuggling under while you watch the latest season of Doctor Who on DVD. Also, don’t forget to check out her TARDIShcloths, because they are adorable as their name!
My friend Adaiha sent me the link to these awesome Star Trek pot holders designed and knitted up by Ilana of Off the Hook Astronomy that were a super-thoughtful wedding gift for friends. Ilana provides the pattern and a nicely illustrated chart for you to knit your own, too!
I spied this wonderful green-haired spaceman softie in the Geek Crafts Flickr pool by yermit. This led me to yermit‘s Flickr photostream of all sorts of lovely softies and then I clicked through to her Etsy shop and you can buy them!!! You *must* click through and see everything. I love her use of textures! Love it!
