Hey everyone! as my baby geek is now 2 (and a half) weeks old, COFFEE has claimed it’s place at the centre of my sanity. “Sleep when your baby sleeps” they say… but there is so much to DO! Feeling a little…sluggish?

Futurama Brain Slug According to the academic resource Futurama Wiki, a brain slug is “a species of space parasite that attaches its jelly-like body to the skull, presumably the brain of a human, and controls them. The specimen is green in color and consists of a translucent jelly-like body complete with two feelers and one large eyeball…The easiest way to tell if someone is infected would be the Brain Slug mass which sits atop of their head.”

Should you wish to make someone think he is infected, just perch one of these crocheted Brain Slugs on his noggin. Hilarity is sure to ensue.

This project makes me think of another amigurumi project – Baby Monsters by Allison Hoffman, aka CraftyIsCool. I made some in red for co-workers for Valentine’s Day, and called them “Love Monsters“. Naturally they were a big hit.

Star Wars Embroidery and FREE Pattern!!

shameless self promoter!?… guilty!

My husband and I are HUGE Star Wars Geeks so I wanted to make something for our home, that I could give him for valentines day….  thus this framed embroidery piece was born!! A Geeky Sweetheart original.

If you don’t recognise the quote, educate yourself.

There are plenty of work-in progress pictures on my facebook page, and I’ve made my pattern available for free download on my blog. All the usual rules apply, don’t rip my work off and sell it on etsy, but do make one for your own home! and please let me know if you use it! I wanna see! The only thing I don’t give you is the bumble-bee, sorry, I drew that freehand.

Silk Screened Serenity Tote

I’m not joking, my husband and I re-watched serenity a couple of days ago, and I had to look away when Wash said this line… I won’t tell you why… if you know you’ll know, but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone.

PURE GENIUS!! – why did you cancel Firefly Fox?… WHY!!!!!?!??!?!??!??!!

*ahem* For those of you (like me) who have a Firefly shaped hole in your lives, you can plug it with this cute tote, or perhaps a T-shirt or hoodie from geekboypress on Etsy (seriously good value too, the tote and t-shirt are only $10USD each!) oh I really want one…. maybe I can negotiate one for valentines day…

Silkcreen printing is an awesome craft and I really want to get into it myself, but I’ve never been able to find anywhere in the UK that sells the supplies… I guess I’d better use the internet to it’s full potential… any good starter kit suggestions GeekCrafters?

Craftster artist vampyreragdolls is from Portugal and makes these incredible vampyre rag dolls! They come in all shapes and sizes and you can browse through more pictures on their blog. I love the little coffin boxes that they are packed in. Do these classic type Vampires get anyone else in the Valentines Day spirit?
