Mini Papercraft, Maxi Cool

Have you ever wanted to make an adorable mini papercraft version of…anything cool? Ever? Well, Gus Santome probably has you covered. She-Ra? Check! Batman? Yep! R2-D2? Indubitably!

Seriously, these are crazy cute. I haven’t tried to make any yet (partially because I already have too many knickknacks and gewgaws), but I could use a bit more flair on my desk at work…. Project!

Dr. Who Dalek in Love Coffee MugPERCOLATE!

Who wouldn’t love drinking coffee out of this amazing mug.  Daleks are not knowing for feeling emotion, so when two fall in love it is truly a special thing to behold.  Now you can commemorate this once in a life time occasion every morning while you drink your coffee.

The mug was made by Betwixxt on Etsy, and she has some other awesome gems in her shop like this K-9 mug or this Penguin mug with a twist!

Steampunk Portal Gun

steampunk portal gun

Today I would like to show you this amazing steampunk portal gun made by ~batman-n-bananas from deviantart. This is what she had to say:

“I absolutely love building things, especially with found objects or bits of scrap nobody loves anymore. The idea for a Steampunk version came from this as I much prefer rusty cogs to pristine white anyday. A lot of people have asked what this is made from… as far as I can remember the ingredients are:

  • 2 antique clock movements
  • 1 +1/2 hangers
  • Metal teapot stand
  • plastic mechano
  • plumbing parts
  • 1 plant pot
  • 1 hair gel pot + various lids
  • plastic tub (those ones you get nuts in the the supermarket)
  • plastic tubing
  • lots and lots of nuts and bolts
  • miniature storage box (for the battery compartment)
  • pocket laser disc (you can get them on ebay if anyone’s interested)
  • 3 lightbulbs
  • cardboard tube
  • metal covering from an old hairbrush
  • AV socket
  • tons of odds and ends from my parents garage
  • oh and of course the usuals – milliput, humbrol and warhammer paints, hot melt glue and about 6 gallons of superglue

that’s about as much as I can remember… enjoy!”

Joker Perler Art

Joker Perler ArtMy son is very much into Batman right now, and whenever he takes an interest in something geeky, I do my best to encourage it.  Right now I am raising him on a solid diet of 1960’s, Adam West era Batman. While he isn’t quite old enough to watch the new Christopher Nolan Batman movies, I certainly am.  So what happens when you search for Batman on Etsy?

YOUR MIND EXPLODES!  THAT’S WHAT!

This Joker Perler Art by mikeandemma on Etsy is amazing.  I can’t even comprehend the amount of time and effort that goes into making something like this.  It is simply amazing.

Comic Book Hair Bows

Comic Book Hair BowsI play a lot of video games, but in my youth I was hard into comic books.  My favorites were always Marvel comics, though Batman was cool too.  Lately I have been combining these two aspects of my life with Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds for the Xbox 360.  So it was with this inspiration that I went searching for my all time favorite comic book character, Deadpool, on Etsy.

It was on SherryKCreations shop page that I found these wonderful Hair Bows.  They aren’t exclusively Marvel Comics, but I can forgive that.

BAM! Go check out the Hair Bows!
