You may not see from a distance why this gorgeous quilt from Craftster user sarahdipity is geeky, but a close-up look of the fabrics shows lots of great robot and mod prints!
Please excuse this brief interruption of Halloween costume ideas for this very cool comforter with Wind Waker Link from The Legend of Zelda. She pieced him together and then sewed him onto an existing comforter.
Ebony at SF-Fandom made this detailed Lord of the Rings Quilt. On her site she’s included links to the individual blocks of the quilt, as well, so you can get up close and personal with all the minor details she worked so hard at putting into this project.
Attackofthevintage posted this Spaceship Quilted Post Card on Etsy. I’m not sure which is better, the funky space ship imagery or the fact that all the materials she used for this quilted project came from things she had around the house.
I found some great bedding on Craftster recently.
Maddys Mum made her husband this lap-sized Space Invaders quilt for Christmas. The simple yet detailed square per pixel worked out great!
Another Christmas gift, Lovefrozenstars made this rockin’ (oh my, did I really just say “rockin'”?) comforter for her boyfriend with the Rock Band guitar icon. She includes some tips in her post, including how she did the image,
“To get the symbol, I brought a print out of it to a Kinko’s and had them blow it up as large as they could. I cut that image out and traced it onto white fleece that I sewed onto the front.”
Of course, both gifts were very well-received!
Be on the lookout for posts from new Geek Crafter Renee – she’ll be blogging regularly here at Geek Crafts.
We hope everyone has a happy, crafty, geeky new year!
