Tusken Raider Star Wars Crochet Hat

Tusken Raider Star Wars Crochet HatWhile I wait patiently for my computer to finish downloading Star Wars: The Old Republic, so I can effectively shed this world and all it’s troubles for a much older world in a Galaxy far, far away, I thought I would browse through Etsy for some wonderful Star Wars related crafty goodness.

When I happened upon BeeBeeKins (A shop for the kids and the kids at heart), and found this Crochet hat, I knew those pesky Jawas wouldn’t be bothering me any longer.  If you scare easily, but then return in greater numbers, this may be the hat for you.

Check it out on Etsy!

Star Wars Winter Warmer Hats

Knit Princess Leia Bun Hat,The weather outside is frightful but Star Wars hats are so delightful… Okay, so it doesn’t really have the same ring to it as the famous Christmas carol but they really are super cool. Anyone worth their salt will know there is a pretty big day coming up in the calender, one which we will all celebrate. Yup, the release of the Star Wars MMO Star Wars The Old Republic on December 20th. Most of us can wave goodbye to seeing our loved ones over the Christmas period but whilst he’s deciding to go Empire or Republic you can at least get some peace and quiet to craft.

This amazing hat is hand knitted by Etsy seller LittleBirdLucy. The knitted Princess Leia Bun Hat is available in Black or Brown and is available in Toddler, 4-6 years, teen and adult sizes. Yup we can all look this awesome, and just think how warm your ears would be!

Leia and Storm TrooperLisa (LittleBirdLucy) also makes an awwwwhhhhhh-dorable little Yoda hat available in sizes newborn to adult.

Star Wars Terrarium at Powell’s Books for Cooks and Gardeners

Imagine my happiness when I was buying some books at my favorite Powell’s for Cooks and Gardeners (in SE Portland) on Tuesday, and saw this huge, super amazing Yoda-with-a-leashed-dinosaur terrarium in the shop window! Megan Walsh and her Powell’s co-workers made this Star Wars-meets-Land of the Lost world inside a large antiqued glass box with ferns and lots of other plants. It’s beautiful in person and they will even open the hinged doors so you can see the scene more closely!

I also got word that Megan has been working on a Star Trek: TNG terrarium (starring Captain Jean-Luc Picard, of course) and I’m sure hoping to see that one too… stay tuned.

Star Wars “Rebel Scum” hat

So Star Wars is finally out on Blu Ray, and while I won’t be buying it, my brother did and he’s really excited about it. So in honor of everyone who is excited I present the knitted “Rebel Scum” hat! greenchick knitted this hat for her husband to wear when the Trilogy originally came out on dvd back in 2004.

I haven’t seen all of the changes made to the movies, what do those of you who bought the blu ray think of them?

Reader Submission: Star Wars Manatees

FUN FACT: you can use the Submit a Geekcraft link to show us stuff you think we might be interested in. It can be something you’ve made yourself but you can also submit geeky-goodness made by another fine citizen of the interwebs… Is there a prize for being featured?… well… no. But you will get the kudos of having your name mentioned here on the blog. High Five.

This imaginative embroidery piece serves to answer the question that you didn’t know you asked. What would Princess Leia look like as a Manatee?

“This is not my work. I saw it on Craftster today and had to share it with you. The Star Wars manatees were created by another member of craftster’s website, Erica_Tattoos. Love your site!”

Thanks Robin, and well done Erica Tattoos :-)
