Alice at Wonderland posted about this awesome, awesome, did I mention it’s awesome? NES coffee table by Kyle of Ultra Awesome. The best part? It really works! Kyle was kind enough to share instructions and step-by-step pictures of his masterpiece.
Geek Crafts reader Kat sent us a link to her awesome blog of video game sprite t-shirts that she hand-paints as gifts for friends. She specializes in NES sprites. I am *so* impressed with how crisp and precise her painting is. I think the Bubble Bobble guy is my favorite.
Etsy seller electricboogaloo (anyone get the reference?) offers these beautifully illustrated yet completely geeky Nerdy Baby ABC Flash Cards.
Here’s what electricboogaloo has to say:
“Ah, nerds having nerds. So tragic. Here is an awesomely pretentious gift for nerdy parents with nerd babies. A is for Atom, B is for Binary Code, C is for Cellular Membrane… and it’s all downhill from there. Shock and horrify your friends whose babies only know lame stuff like animal names!”
The cards are 5″ x 7″ and you get a full set of twenty-six for $18.00 plus shipping.
Reader Jen sent us a picture of her very first quilt. She says,
“I love old school Super Mario Brothers and I am trying to learn how to quilt. This is my first attempt. I call it my starter quilt. Super easy to make but a bit time-consuming.”
Mario looks awesome on such a grand scale. Good job, Jen!
While watching Battlestar Galactica, Steph saw Starbuck’s mandala and thought it would make an awesome hat. (She was right!) She says,
The colors and design are great, and it’s the perfect fandom knit; people who watch the show will probably get it, but those who don’t will just think it’s an awesome hat.
Get the pattern and instructions on Steph’s blog.
As a side note – this was our first ever reader submission! If you want some exposure for your Geek Craft, tell us about it!
