Knit an Arc Reactor Shawl

I am a member of the Genius, Billionaire, Playboy, Philanthropist, fan club and have the T-shirt to prove it. But I can’t wear a shirt like that to work. What I can wear is an Arc Reactor shawl and see who notices.  Crafter  Mabiana has done just that, knitting a  pattern to emulate the  Vibranium arc  reactor.

The pattern is only charted,  but look at what you get.  Your very own, quietly nerdy shawl.  You may not have built it in a cave with a box of scraps, but you can put it together with a couple of sticks and some string.

Knit Avengers Dishcloth Squares

Tumblr user Captain-Rachel has been kind enough to put out patterns to knit all the Avengers as dishcloths. These patterns, include written instructions, and charts so you can have a cloth made with your preferred instructions. The list includes all the Avengers, the team logo, S.H.I.E.L.D logo, and a cleverly designed Coulson logo. All you need for your team of Avengers.

Welcome To Level 7 – Snailvenger Patterns

snail flash

Many moons ago, on the ides of March, I posted about the Snailvengers and that there were more team members in the works and patterns in production. Crocheters gather your hooks! There are now patterns available in the etsy shop. And if that wasn’t good enough, look at Snail Coulson. Look at his CARDS. He has snail cap trading cards people. SNAIL CAP CARDS. And if somehow the snailvengers are not your speed. Maybe the scarlet speedster is more to your pace.

Don’t forget to check out the etsy shop or tumblr. You may notice a few snailifed heroes on a half shell as well.

Avengers Magic Puzzle Cube Papercraft

Avengers Papercraft Magic Puzzle Cube

Did you ever have one of those cool magic cube puzzles when you were a kid? The sort that you could kind of turn inside-out? I picked one up at a Science museum this weekend with solar system facts on it, and it got me thinking I’d quite like to make one of my own.

A quick Google later and I’d stumbled upon a pattern for making a papercraft version. So, as with most things, I decided to take the pattern and “geek it up” to create an Avengers Magic Puzzle Cube.

This cube features Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, Agent Hill, Dr. Selvig, Loki and the Avengers logo. Yep – 12 images on one cube. Well, it is magic. Here’s a quick vid of it in action, in case you still don’t know what I’m talking about.

Want to make your own? I’ve uploaded the pattern I used especially for you guys. There aren’t any instructions, you just need to remember that each strip makes two adjoining cubes, and the labelled tabs then connect them all together.

Iron Man-Inspired Crocheted Gloves

Iron Man-Inspired Gloves

We all want to be part of The Avengers.  Let’s face it.  Maybe you’ve created your own superhero or maybe you really want to be Thor.  Or Captain America.  Or, well, Iron Man.  (Or, if you’re me, you want to be Joss Whedon!)

Louie over at Louie’s Loops found a fun way to show off his love for comics and The Avengers — crocheted fingerless gloves in Iron Man’s colors, complete with Power Circles!  Originally inspired by a pair he found on Etsy being sold by Nerdifacts, he created his own version and shared the pattern — for free!

Check out the pattern below and comment with your favorite Avengers crafts.

Crochet Snail Avengers

Crochet Snail Avengers with Loki and Nick Fury

These adorable slow moving little world avengers showed up on my RSS feed yesterday courtesy of the Mary Sue and I had to know if there were patterns. It’s about time I dusted off my hooks. And there is a Coulson in the works?! Yes!  And patterns later this year? *crafty nerd dance* And while you wait for Laura to share the patterns, why not check out her Etsy shop, which currently still has a Hulk snail, and a set of avengers Scoodies
